I know that Konami pulled out of the big game industry execpt for the their soccer franchise but I can't think that they would completely abandon their older games. They had or have allowed their older game previous game generations to be sold for download on modern systems and I like to know if they will continue to do this for future consoles or pc systems. Not doing this would be a huge loss for them.

There are a lot of Konami games from past console generations that I looooooooooooooove, but Konami doesn't seem to have much interest in doing anything outside of pachislot machines or mobile games with them. I wish they would make some of them more readily available. Like, why have the original NES Contra and Hard Corps on the Genesis not had Virtual Console releases yet? It's bizarre.

I spammed no pachinko in that survey. Also if they're gonna reboot MG make sure it's done with money and the right dev. We shall see.

They had many awesome IP's from the SNES era and don't forget the acquisition of Hudson Software. In the end, they never created a port or a remake from anything. This is the reason why Konami is kinda the weakest company(at least for me). EA even created Mirros Edge. Capcom, SNK, SEGA, Tecmo Koei and Square Enix are trying (at least), but Konami is like: Metal Gear? METAL GEAR!
I really love the Metal Gear series, but because of that and Konamis business decisions I started to hate Metal Gear. The price was kinda too high for me.
Yours sincerely

Yours sincerely Jack Caeylin IDK about SNK, I mean they still relying on KOF which p###es me off to no end even though they admitted to owning ALOT of IPs (and supposedly working on reviving Metal Slug no less). But the similarities between SNK and Konami in regards to relying on just one franchise I can relate with you.
As for Metal Gear, I'm still quite disappointed with the design decisions made in the Phantom Pain (and Ground Zeroes) but after the fallout between Kojima and Konami I have no idea if either of the two did them but I know for one thing: Kojima is way better than Konami (even though I was ironically upset with him the most before all that mess).

I agree with you. SNK and Konami share some similarities. I think SNK needs time to create proper sequels/games, because they were in the pachinko business. I don't know how many talented people have left SNK, since the pachinko business time. I guess they just need time to hire the right people for various projects, because Leyou Technologies wants to go the path of mass media-multi franchise and this is a risky and expensive route, but I don't know anything about the business structure of Leyou Technologies. In the end only the time can answer the question.
Yours sincerely

How many threads have turned into rants about Metal Slug, now? We're getting to the point where there's going to need to be a filter on the board that turns "Metal Slug" into something completely non-sequitur, like "Rodney King" or "Bacon Cheeseburger" or something.

I think it's a bit unfair to say SNK and Konami are similar (surprise, the guy with the Shingo avatar is defending SNK). From my perspective I imagine SNK got into the pachinko industry just to survive (didn't they also get screwed over by Aruze at the time they went bankrupt as well), and relying on KOF as their main series makes sense because it's their most popular fighting series at this point. I'm hoping their departure from pachinko means they'll bring back some of their older series. I'd kill for another Last Blade, or even just another proper Fatal Fury. The most important thing is that it appears as though they're trying to get started in that direction, which cannot be said about Konami as they've given up on video games. I like the way you think. Edit: How in the hell did this become an SNK topic anyway? I didn't even pay attention to the thread title until after I posted this; I just kind of assumed I was in an SNK or KOF thread.

To be fair Caeylin brought up SNK in the first place and I offered my opinion on SNK which you may already be aware by now.
And I'm sorry I keep bothering people about it but the whole SNK thing continues to concern me given how they behaved over the years way before its acquisition. Perhaps maybe I should stop bring up the MS series a lot for now but I still am waiting to see what the company can bring out.
That and we should refocus on Konami's wrongfully neglected IPs (that and bashing the s##t out of Konami since that's what we can all truly agree on); and the one IP I wish Konami should have been caring IMO would be Ganbare Goemon and maybe um Otomedius. I know the latter may not have been good but after playing the game I believe it had potential, what little there is.

I think mentioning SNK is relevant here; they did focus mainly on pachinko like Konami did/is doing, although they differ from Konami in that they've recently started bring back more of a focus on video game development again.

The last time Konami cared about there arcade history was Microsofts Gameroom which in general was a mess and lots of games had sound problems like scooter shooter having no music what so ever and yie ar kunf fu having sound problems despite the fact the standalone XBLA version made years before it did not. They was the only Japanese company to put games on the service and the only one to put games made after 1984 on it.Pop n twinbee was pretty much the most recent game on it since sunset riders was announced but never came out. I can not really blame Konami over Gameroom though alot of its games had problems and just because the developer Krome was in trouble and microsoft never tried to help them out so the product was left buggy and could hard crash the system if you put items in your arcade which was never fixed. They also kept posting on facebook saying it was going to get new games after the final pack but it never did and microsoft deleted the entire gameroom forum area a few months later.

Before I go to sleep, I want to apologize that I mentioned SNK at my enumeration. I didn't know that it would create such a ruckus in this Konami topic. It seems that I missed a heated discussion, thus I resurrected a sensitive topic, unintentionally.

Yours sincerely Jack Caeylin I had no idea it would be sensitive either, I guess because there isn't much to SNK at the moment.
Oh well, at least we can do is both reminisce about Konami's IPs before 2015 and bash Konami's recent antics here, everyone can agree on it, just as I mentioned before.
