Her breasts aren't that large Unfortunately some people (both men an women) have a really fucked up idea about what is "too big" for a woman's breast. Then again some people see a curvy woman and they call her "too fat". Those people are idiots.

I clicked on her profile (apparently she uses female pronouns?), and her bio proudly states that she is "100% anti-mexican" and "100% anti-terrorist (Muslim)" Along with that, she also has a My Little Pony profile pic, which I find hilarious. Friendship is magic* *as long as you aren't brown

I don't understand all the fuss about James Rolfe's refusal of reviewing the new Ghostbusters film. I watched the video and it makes some very valid points without being offensive or condescending, despite this apparently lots of people are angered by this and started calling him a man-child (do they know not the AVGN is only a character he played?) and insulting his wife. Who is behind this? Are they so afraid the movie will bomb that they think Rolfe's speech will get the people to boycott "en masse" the movie? Or there's more? I thought his Cinemassacre videos were a niche thing but apparently not. It seems a very stupid situation overall.

Fuck this modern internet if this is the way they're going to treat James Rolfe, he doesn't deserve it.
These people need to have a buffalo take a diarrhea dump in their ears.

Yeah I saw some of that lunacy on my Facebook wall. It's like... dude, he doesn't want to see the movie. He wanted to kind of dissuade people from asking him to make a review about a movie he knew he wouldn't like. Is he not allowed to respectfully explain that to people?
Well, he is... but not without every bizarre, moralizing weirdo on the internet throwing a fit and calling him a child over gently exercising his right to choose. He must be a misogynist.

I'm going to come out and admit that I was wrong to criticize Rolfe over this. I do think that he's being a little immature and hypocritical, but the fact is that a lot of people get that way when it comes to their favorite franchises. Any long-running series will have several changes from its original incarnation. Some will seem inspired, some will feel forced. Some people won't be bothered by any of it. It's a very "nerd thing" to complain about our pet peeves when it comes to things we love, and the man shouldn't be getting this level of flak for it.
It's really easy to caught up in today's constant cycle of instant outrage. Sometimes it feels like that's the only reason why Twitter even exists anymore. Immediately taking something to 11 instead of just calmly assessing a situation is not only easier, but it gets a bigger and "better" response from people. It doesn't need to be that way, though.

You gotta admit that this is pretty funny that he does the whole video with Star Trek “What does God need with a starship?” V visible in the frame.

James Rolfe, from his appearances and interviews I've seen (as well as a roast of him from some years back), is a very mellow, level-headed guy, when he's not portraying the AVGN. Including in his video where he explains why he's not reviewing the new Ghostbusters, he didn't seem all that whiny or "manchild-y" at all. He even admits his bias, though it was obvious anyways, since he's made clear on several occasions that Ghostbusters is a very important film/series to him, and that he'd rather not bother with the newest one. I say this as a non-Ghostbusters fan (saw the first one years ago and didn't really care for it; haven't seen the other stuff).

It's kinda weird that a statement is made at all though or that people care this much. Imagine Roger Ebert or Leonard Maltin doing something like this?

Mayhap the staff member was insecure? Sexist? Who knows? The world is full of idiots. They got complaints about her from other members of the gym according to the article.

That's a big part of what bothers me about the situation, as it makes him seem immature and unprofessional. Just watch this thing that everyone is talking about, whether you personally think it will be interesting or not. People will want to hear what you have to say about it. Having said that, I refused to watch Batman Begins in theaters for similar reasons (didn't fit what I thought Batman should be), so is he really that off-base?

I'm pretty sure I never actually met him, but I recently learned that one of my cousins on my mom's side committed suicide. I'm not affected by it since I didn't know him, but it's kind of sad to hear about, nonetheless.

It depends if you consider this guy a "professional" critic or not. I don't, I always saw him as a fan critic, so I don't see what the fuss is about. I guess some people see him as more though. A professional is someone who is forced to review something whether he/she wants to or not, because they are getting paid to do so. Isn't AVGN just some guy who started putting up gimmicky reviews on youtube for fun?

A professional is anyone who gets paid to do a set thing for a living. It's true that he isn't as formal as more traditional media outlets, but he's still a professional.
