www.hardcoregaming101.net/famicombunko/famicombunko.htmReleased in 1999 exclusively through the Nintendo Power download service for the Super Famicom, this adventure game seems like a simple summer love story, but it also makes very poignant commentary about the preservation of the environment and Japan's cultural traditions.

Great write-up! This seems like the sort of game that would have bored me in my youth, but can be greater appreciated later in life. Minor correction: They act as a nice diversion from the regular gameplay, but these mini-games also let the game achieve a variety of moods it might be able to achieve otherwise. (...might not be...?)

This game looks lovely, and deceptively meaningful underneath the simple premise. I really like aspects of the art style; some of it reminds me of a scaled down Mark Ferrari.
Obscure oddities that are waaaay off my radar like this are why I keep reading the site.

Does anyone know if there has ever been a fan translation of this game? It's a long shot but I thought it was worth asking.

With Nintendo showing a bit of recognition for this in game in the form of a "Girl from Hajimari no Mori" Spirit in Smash Bros Ultimate, perhaps there might be a little more interest from the fan translation community?
