A great game where you shoot actual people in their actual teeth.

Wow, I saw this on GOG and it looked intersting to me. I didn't know the people from OlliOlli were behind it, I love those games and will grab Not a Hero when it's on sale for sure.

I was surprised how much I like it, because hard as nail games rarely engage me. But the short levels really help keep things from being too repetitive. Perfecting a level always feels like you've done something amazing.

I dedicated a couple of hours to this game months ago and I remember it being challenging and almost unforgiving at times but very fun, with the Bunnylord providing a lot of hilarious commentary. My favourite character was the Welsh woman, boyo. I think I'll play it again in the near future.

Perfecting a run with him is just so rewarding.

I actually don't think it's that hard, it's very methodical and with Cletus it's quite easy to Global Megalord the entire game. I should go around checking out the DLC one of these days

After playing it for a while- yeah, the article is pretty spot on in my opinion. The game is great fun. I'd go so far as to say, the most fun I ever had with an action-focused modern indie-game. Yes, more than Super Meatboy, Hotline Miami or even Shovel Knight Adventures. It feels really tight. I mean, remember the cover mechanics in Bonanza Bros., which is -kind of- the closest similar thing out there? It felt stiff and awkward. Here, it feels very natural after the first two levels or so. Good. I also feel the later levels are too long though. I am not good at these kind of games, my reflexes are slow, so I doubt I'll be able to beat it. I mean, as long as it is on a trial-and error-basis, I can get by on memorization. But when on the last block of levels the police appears and it's hectic and unpredictable.... I am really amazed by people who find it easy.Respect.

I am really amazed by people who find it easy.Respect. I would say it's very hypnotic in its difficulty, just like Hotline Miami or Super Meat Boy, in terms of that there's hardly any punishment, aside of redoing the (quite short) level from the beginning - you don't lose lives, you don't downgrade, etc. So, while in any other circumstances it may be hard as hell, the fact that you can easily let yourself die a couple (hundreds) of times to memorize the level and beat it properly, it doesn't really seem that hard. The only really bullshitty part of the game for me was a "16x streak challenge" at the last level - it's close to impossible to do without abusing AI via staircases (running back and forth to lure them down/up and quickly shooting them while they're running for cover). As for police, try to slide in the corner and kill them one by one - this is especially effective for Mike, who can just slide towards SWAT guys, execute them, slide back, and wait for another guy to drop off, until they're all dead. Eventually, they will just stop spawning, and you can continue the level. They really aren't as hardass as they seem at first, ninjas and armored gangbangers gave me much more troubles c: As for review, it's kinda sad that soundtrack was barely mentioned. Not only it's a damn good soundtrack, but it was made by several notorious chiptune composers and veterans, most of which were a part of a cult classic "8BP050" compilation (one huge monument of the 2000s chiptune scene, highly recommend to check it out), so it's also quite interesting from the musical standpoint.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah once you get into the rythm, those swat guys are not too difficult. I found the ninjas/samurais not too difficult honestly, once you now were they will appears,it's easy enough to avoid. And the music, oh the music. I suspected some known people where behind it because it just sounds so amazing and still manages to stay unique and memorable.... Very cool. I really, really love this game. Vote for Bunnylord.

Game recognizes my controller but it doesn't work. I press the buttons and no answer. From what I remember, it works properly only with XBox360 controller. I would recommend to just remap stuff in JoyToKey/XMapper/something like that, it works well for the game.
