The whole "lost footage" movie genre with The Blair Witch Project and Cloverfeld among others always seem to be set in either horror or science fiction. But over the years I've been wondering if there has been other genres like for this like comedy or drama. Now I like to point out that this thing also includes in my opinion any type of camera recording stuff like in the Paranormal Activity series. I'm not really interested in seeing these movies just curious of what else is out there for the lost footage stuff.
I suspect there was a comedy one some years back where it involves a house party with the parents gone out of town and teenagers partying in their home and teenage kids but it ended up appearing on video on the internet in the movie. Other than that the only one I could call is an action movie called Hardcore Henry but that was more of a first person perspective of the main character then video.

I thought the term was found footage. I know some non horror/sci-fi found footage movies. I think this style is awesome, but most people don't really like it. I adore it, because in these times with all these remakes (hell currently, even matrix remake is on the discussion at the studios), the found footage genre feels so fresh.
possibly the first found footage movie: Cannibal Holocaust
It isn't a horror movie. It has gore and some gruesome scenes, but it has a nice message, which can be applied even today. It is a documentary with an interesting twist. You even learn how to kill turtles.
Chronicle:
It is an okayish movie about superheroes and the price that you pay for being a superhero. The genre would be drama/action/comedy.
C’est arrivé près de chez vous:
It is a media satire mockumentary and an interesting one. I don't think that everyone would like it. It would recommend the original language, if you want to give it a try.
End of Watch:
I don't really remember much, but it has good looking guys and it is about police drama stuff at south california. It is a well loved movie in the found footage genre.
Punishment Park:
I haven't seen it yet, but I heard from some people good stuff. The setting is during the 80's.
Forgotten Silver:
This is a comedy mockumentary, but you have to be a movie fan/historian to enjoy it completely. Peter Jackson was involved.
84C MoPic:
It is an war and drama movie, but not an "be an american soldier ad". It isn't the strongest movie, but it has some good stuff.
Yours sincerely
