Game's cartridge cover has finally been released and it looks great! I will remember it fondzy! ...I don't get it? Is that a scene from a movie?

It was literally everyone on the team's first proper game, was even supposed to be a non-commercial project at first. Wasn't it supposed to be the Eidolon's Inn RPG at first, a million years before? Honestly, I don't really care if it's their first game. I bought it full-price and regretted it, is my point. And they spoke of it as if it were the greatest thing ever made. That would have been fine for a free game, or even a 15-20$ Steam game (though Steam wasn't as a big when it first came out, IIRC), but it left a sour taste in my mouth. Yeah that's how it started. I joined the team as a (also amateur) pixel artist/"general helper" after it became Pier Solar but quit after about 6 months which was shortly after the demo was released. We already didn't have the same creative goals and weren't getting along well, I was really frustrated with how disorganized they were, and when tulio suddenly introduced a contract that we all had to sign I wanted out. They still used some of my work in the game though and also blamed me for delays on the game, despite me saying they could use all my work and that I wouldn't sue them, which was supposedly part of the reason for the contract. What's strange to me is that fonzie was probably the most hard working and ambitious, and also decent person in general on the team but seems to now have scammed the others. There's probably a bunch of things about this that isn't being shown to the public, not to take any sides.

Sounds like he was overambitious. He kept promising more and more and couldn't deliver. I think if he'd meant it as a scam from the start, it probably wouldn't have dragged on this long. The money came in long ago. But you're right, who even knows? I'd probably be mad if I'd invested money in it, but I didn't, so I'm not super interested in the pile-up.

So is Paprium officially dead? I thought there were supposed to be some Actual Results(tm) a couple months back at an event or something but I promptly forgot about it.

If Paprium is actually dead... then this would officially make the first time that I invested money in something which failed to pan out when all was said and done. I've generally been pretty lucky in this regard, including with all the kickstarter projects I've backed... so I guess it had to happen sooner or later? Have they officially announced it's dead yet?

This blog recommends to file a consumer complaint to FTC, which supposedly will help resolve the case. The details on the process can be found over there.
Sorry about your loss.

Here we have a story about a Fonzie, "bedroom guys" and Paprium, told from studio members perspective. What a personality that guy.
