Baby Driver is that rare movie that tries to be stylish and fun while featuring a perfectly selected score, and actually works! Good to hear, it was a movie I wanted to see for a while now and glad to own it as a gift. To be fair, Anastasia could still as well be a Disney movie of that era. Their Renaissance star was quickly fading too. It would fit perfectly inbetween Pocahontas and Hercules. Thanks to Fox being owned by Disney we can now consider her a Disney Princess. I wonder how Don Bluth thinks about that.

I have a fondness for Titan AE, for some reason.

Several people do. Never saw it myself. That was about the time when I was too old to still be watching cartoons, but not old enough to be watching cartoons again.

With only weeks to go before release too. If it was anybody but Ridley Scott it probably wouldn’t have happened. GamerL Western animation in the 80s were just longform ads for toys. There’s some good and a lot of bad. But if you tell most 32-42 year olds that something like Dinosaucers or The Snorkels were bad, god help you. Disney did have it tough. But Brave Little Toaster trumps all, and for that one movie I can forgive all that was released then. Brave Little Toaster! I thought I was forgetting a really good one. BLT is excellent, I love just how DARK it is and damn what a catchy soundtrack, "Worthless" was my favorite track of any animated movie I saw as a kid, I mean what a catchy saxophone beat and yet the lyrics are so depressing, it's the whole movie in a nutshell. The 80s had a couple of great Don Bluth movies. Arguably his only good ones, too. I forgot about the Don Bluth ones, it's been a long time since I've seen him. lol, remember the 90s ones like Rock-a-Doodle? Anastasia is trash, that's for sure. Honestly, I usually confuse FernGully for one of his lesser works, as well. Such weird subject matter for a kid's movie, I mean what could be more kid friendly than the Bolshevik revolution? Thanks to Fox being owned by Disney we can now consider her a Disney Princess. Weiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiird. I have a fondness for Titan AE, for some reason. Never saw it, I just remember the "can you take me hiiiiiiigher!" Creed song that played in the commercials. It's not fair though that it killed Don Bluth's career. I noticed that in the early 00s there were a few different animated films that aimed for a slightly older audience, there was Titan AE but also the Disney films Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Treasure Planet, of them I only saw Atlantis, which I was super hyped for, but I hated it (I just remember a lot of time spent in non-descript caves instead of, ya know, the lost city of Atlantis) There was also the animated Adam Sandler movie Eight Crazy Nights but well.... ya know, it's an Adam Sandler movie. Several people do. Never saw it myself. That was about the time when I was too old to still be watching cartoons, but not old enough to be watching cartoons again. I remember after Kingdom Hearts came out I planned a Disney movie marathon of all my favorites as a kid, but I had just turned 13 and felt too old, sadly many of them I still haven't rewatched 15 years later.

I forgot it was based on a novel, but that reminds me, the author wrote the Miami Vice episode "Missing Hours" where Trudy gets abducted by aliens, James Brown plays a fictionalized version of himself (who also claims to have been abducted by aliens), peanut butter plays a crucial role and Trudy undergoes hypnotherapy to remember what happened and has surreal visions where among other things James Brown's face turns into the sky. Yeah....

Anastasia is trash, that's for sure. Honestly, I usually confuse FernGully for one of his lesser works, as well. That was the weirdest movie to realize what the hell it was about. It's one thing to white wash mythology. It's another to just remember Pocahontas too. What the fuck. Although I don't think Pocahontas was shot in a basement because her dad was an incompetent shit head.

Super late, but I forgot to chime in, so I might as well before I end up doing it like two years later or something in the middle of May or something.
- Underwear & socks (I'm so old now that I actually start to appreciate these) - Skittles & Starbursts - Beef jerky (I just like beef jerky, OK?) - $170 in cash - A memory foam mattress - A new office chair
There wasn't any gaming related stuff I urgently needed. I considered a Switch, but decided to give it another year to see how the library ends up.

I should actually participate in this topic. All of my presents this year were non video games. I got Pre-Nicks Fleetwood Mac albums, a new electric shaver, Tomb of Annihilation for 5e D&D, winter work gloves, and money. And I'm getting a Microsoft Surface for fixing a computer. Which I'm counting, because I put it on my list and my Dad told me "Ha". But then my sister's laptop broke, and so he made a deal that he'd trade me his old one.

Cash All you-can-eat beef belly shabu shabu Tamales Chocolates A bottle of red wine
My favorite non-game gift has to be a Turkish luxe organic cotton bath towel from Pottery Barn. So supple, so soft. Uncommonly good at drying. It's like the most comforting towel to use after a nice hot shower. I actually look forward to showers because of this towel!
