(Sorry to bring this topic up again if it has already been discussed before.)
With downloadable games being the thing with consoles these days some have the option to store the data for them on data cards or whatever their called. I have the Wii, 3ds, PS Vita and now a Switch that can use data cards for dlc games but with the Wii eShop gone by the end of last year I've thought of thing that I'd like to know about data cards.
1. How long do data cards last? I'd hate to lose everything I've downloaded from the various online stores one day.
2. Is it possible to transfer the games from one data card to another? Be very helpful to do to save my data from losing every thing do to time or something else.
3. Can one data card be used on another console/handheld of the same kind. Remember I have the Wii, PSVita, 3ds and Switch systems.
Also, I just found out that the Switch isn't getting the Virtual Console like the Wii, Wii U and 3ds. WTF?! I was looking forward to getting more older games from such and now I won't be able too.
Edit...Dang it. I put this in the wrong board. Could someone put this in the General Video Game one for me? Thanks.

1. Can't say for sure. With proper care and storage these things will either last years or crap out tomorrow. However, Vita has a PC utility that let's you backup data from the card to the PC. 3DS and Switch let you transfer data between cards simply by copying them so you can have a backup on PC as well. Wii supposedly should work the same way.
2. See 1.
3. Far as I know, cards are not interchangeable between consoles. 3DS requires a system transfer from the original device, Switch and Vita are tied to account (I think) and even then with the Switch I've heard that you might have to redownload software. No clue about the Wii.
