After about some time now I had Spectrum as my cable/internet/phone provider I got rid of their services after all the BS they've caused me with their prices. I now am using other means to afford cheaper services for the above. Unfortunately, the cable is a bit of a problem. I just got something called Roku for it and I'm only in the early stages of it. I will be getting cable with them but I'm unsure of what I'll be getting. Some channels and shows probably won't be there so I'm wondering how in anyway can I see stuff online without paying a fee. Are there any streaming sites for stuff like this? My Little Pony FIM is one show I want to see but the only Netflix has it through Ruko but I seen online that it might be being cancelled on Netflix soon. The only other way is by buying and watching each episode individual but that's way out of the question as there nearly 200 episodes to date with more coming. I'm also too much of a man to buying the series on DVD.

You really won’t find anything for free without pirating or signing up for free trials and setting up new e-mails every other week.

I'll just put it to you this way.
Sometimes piracy is a necessary evil, corporations don't deserve to get every last dime that they can out of you, sometimes for simple convenience sake piracy is your best option.
Hope that's not too controversial a statement.

Not at all in my eyes. I know there’s a mixed bag of opinions on it, but with the economy and what have you the way it is some people do what they gotta do. When it comes down to rent/clothing/feeding a family vs. yet another streaming app and a price gouging cable plan, I have no remorse.

I know a number of sites that stream pirated content, but they're pretty dodgy and it's sometimes a pain to get a correct url since google is constantly trying to stamp them out like a game of virtual whack-a-mole.
For the most part I'll just run Youtube in the background with lectures or let's plays running, and only pause to switch it up if something becomes boring or annoying enough. also note that i don't really watch television (haven't owned one for 15 years or so) and am a big nerd who's never watched game of thrones and really doesn't care.
