Seems no one is playing it at gfaqs so I'll ask here too.
What's the recommended stat allocation and classes to avoid with this party?: Duran (main), Kevin, Hawk.
At the volcanic island cave the game suddenly got kinda tough, and I've been mostly adding points to the lowest stats to even things out so far. Haven't really grinded at all and have missed several chests (some items needed for class changing in these? maybe not relevant yet) as I keep going to the next screen right as it spawns.
"BA" attacks/cancels as Duran - Is it worth trying with these? I don't think I've managed to do it yet, trying for about 10-15 mins early on. It's hard to tell with Hawk and Kevin too I find, since the cpu allies get in the way.
Playing with the bug fix patch btw.

Wow, talk about a powerhouse sausage fest. With that group, I would just focus on power, defense, and agility. Intelligence and Wisdom aren't really needed, unless you want marginal help with support/buffs. With Kevin, just fight when it's night time, and you'll mow your way through the game quite easily.

My very first playthrough of the game I did the same thing you did - evenly allocated stats, which is dumb because I was using Duran as a main...anyway before you knew it I got to one of the dungeons...the ghost ship I think, and I was only doing 1 damage to all the enemies. Plus you're stranded there. I had to spend hours grinding my way out of there.

Haha that was unintentional, and I honestly thought hawk was a lady on the selection screen. But I guess the next playthrough will be a vag party then.
I read in one guide that you needed at least a bit of intelligence for Duran's spells with some classes. Checking the rpgshrine such requirements seem kinda high for most spells though, but I assume class changing gives a boost.
Yes I am doing very low damage besides the special attacks, though I also boosted luck with 2-3 points on each char so I hope that makes some difference at least with the bug fix. I tried going to the desert but got my ass kicked by ben & bill (or whatever they were called), going to the north instead.

You chose the physically most powerful party. Improve Duran's intelligence a bit, especially if you don't go full light and want to utilise the elemental sword spells.

So I can't increase Agility above 11 for Kevin (Monk) all of a sudden, is that normal?

Yes, that is normal. Stat bonuses get capped, up until you are able to class-upgrade or at least increase in levels. Happy playing~ =)

Thanks, yeah I noticed them "unlocking" after a while but forgot to delete. Strange system.
