I plan on getting both the Mana collection and the remake. The remake looks absolutely beautiful, doesn't it? It looks like Square took to heart the crits people had about the SoM remake. The sad thing is, there's no reason SoM couldn't have also looked like this.
This was probably my biggest surprise of E3 this year, and it's a wonderful surprise!

I’d be hyped on Trials if it came to PS4. I hate when a series is spread out like this across different platforms, especially when Secret of Mana was just released on PS4 not long ago. And yet they put the ”sequel” on Switch.
The original SD3 is less interesting to me since I played it quite a few times already. Gorgeous game but I prefer both SD1 and SD2 by a landslide. Still very interested in the remake though.

Oh yes, I'm very glad when retro games get officially translated. I never played the game before so I'm going Mana collection first.

Trials of Mana remake sounds like it would fill the void that Ys 5 left behind when they did Ys Seven.

I'm pretty excited! The remake was also confirmed to even be dual audio. Guess there wasn't any English audio to use in the Direct.

I don't like the original, but I'm looking forward to the remake. The remake already looks like it fixes the main problem with the original, which is the way it forces you to just fight a million enemies screen by screen by forcing you into a dumb fighting stance that makes you walk super slow. Looking at the footage, anyway, it seems like a more open, standard ARPG world, and the fighting seems more fluid. Usually I don't like remakes, but I hate the original Seiken Densetsu III - hate it - and this honestly seems better. Visual style is kind of Dragon Quest-ish, too, which is a plus for me.

I'd have to try the demo or see more gameplay at least, was a bit lukewarm on the original after beating it recently (with the bug fixes patch btw). Visually it doesn't quite compare but it's not bad.

Bah. Nothing is worth getting hyped for anymore. And nobody seems to have been completely happy with any of Square's updated ports lately. (They still didn't fix the Steam version of FF6 to a satisfactory degree, did they?)

I'm partly on team Jorpho. I'm rarely hyped about anything. Maybe I'm just a lot older and more cynical about games these days.
So far, Trials of Mana looks good. I'll probably get it when it drops $10~$20 in price. But I have no expectations about it blowing me out of the water. And I actually liked Seiken Densetsu 3 overall, when it came out. Even when fighting pace got needlessly slowed down for spells and special attacks. I'm probably looking most forward to how they plan to remaster and arrange the soundtrack. I wish Hiroki Kikuta got more composition projects to work on at Squaresoft.

I've never been "hyped" about anything. It's pretty irrational after all. But when it comes to remakes or remasters, I don't care about it at all because I can just play the original instead of have already played it. Why applaud some company for re-heating a dish when they could have created a new one instead? Sometimes it's about missed potential.

This isn't a simple remake though. From the Treehouse video, there are some pretty significant gameplay differences setting aside that it's in 3D now. You have strong and weak attacks, jumping attacks and have to formally escape from battles. It's not a complete do over like Lufia II to Curse of the Sinistrals, but it's more than FF Adventure to Sword of Mana.

SD3 is pretty much perfect save for the bugs. The outcome of SD1's remake has me super skeptical about this one, sadly. It DOES look a lot better already, though. Any info on local multiplayer?
Does the collection mean the original SD3 is gonna get a Western release?
