I've got a couple of interesting questions about Konami:
1) Besides Hideo Kojima, who else was notable for working for the company's Home Computer division?
2) What other divisions did they have besides Home Computer, Famicom, and Arcade?

I know a lot of composers that became Konami mainstays worked on home computer games. Michiru Yamane did a few tracks for games on it and the MSX SCC sound chip is a fantastic piece of tech which produced some glorious music.

Koji Igarashi began working in 1990 in the "Educational Software Department." While 1990 might be a bit late for your 80s cutoff, it's possible the Educational department existed before then.
