Hey, its great to hear that Konami is reviving the Parodius franchise. Though, I have to admit I'm not too enthused about the generic anime girls that appear to be the main characters. Hopefully there will be more playable characters than just those two.

Well, based on the video, it seems that it uses the same style as Parodius, right down to the penguin enemies, so its, at the very least, a spiritual sequel to the series. Also, based on a report at The Magic Box, the game will feature online updates, including new characters and levels: www.the-magicbox.com/gaming.htm

It looks as if the Blue-Haired chick is an anthropomorphic Vic-Viper.
But in any case, it still looks cool. The only questions that remain would be; Is it coming out on US shore consoles? and; How will it stack up next to project RS3?

If it comes to DS doesn't matter if it's localized?
I think Project RS3 is just the 360 port of Ikaruga
but yeah I swear if this game gets any port it'll be on the DS or Wii

I read a treasure article that they are indeed developing a new shmup for the 360 that is not related to Radiant Silvergun or Ikuraga. Its very early in development and probably wont arise until 2008.

It looks as if the Blue-Haired chick is an anthropomorphic Vic-Viper. That's the impression I got as well. I wonder if the pink haired girl is supposed to be Lord British.

yeah I read that too. it'd be cool if they revisted Axelay treasure did develop it if I'm not mistaken Only one member of [what would become] treasure was involved with Axelay. Treasure didn't exist before Gunstar Heroes, and the most amount of members working on Konami projects prior to that added up to 3 or 4 tops. It's not impossible to see another Axelay, but it's Konami's IP (like Thunder Cross and Gradius), so it's their call. I think Project RS3 is just the 360 port of Ikaruga Under that logic, RS3 was made ages ago on the Cube. But I could be wrong. It could be that RS3 is just a rumor originating from news of a new shooter from Treasure (and possibly with H. Iiuchi in charge to boot). Nonetheless, I'll still throw the name 'RS3' around.
