I don't know if they've changed anything since the GBA release, but the key things for me were unit positioning (although it takes a while for the game to introduce this) and patience - characters keep levels gained if you get wiped out and restart, so the game will never be impossible (and there's always next time for the special items!).

...side-scrolling beat em ups (fighters for you US folk, right?)... We have much to discuss. Welcome to the fold, kim! In America, BEUs are like Double Dragon and Final Fight, and just plain Fighters are like Street Fighter and Samurai Shodown. However, I really love both genres, so I can rant about anything on either premise. ;D

So I registered here a few months ago but kind of forgot to post, even though I read the main site almost daily (it's great, and I thank those who made it). But a few days ago Atma joined LCN, and told me that not only does she write a few articles for the site but that there's actually an irc channel of it! I immediately /joined and now felt the need to do the same on the forum, being reminded constantly of it.
Yeah uh. I'm German, fan of the Dept. Heaven series (Riviera, YU, Kitten (the latter which I haven't played yet due to lack of Japanese knowledge)) and in some kind of love/hate relationship with the Sonic series and all its ups and downs. Sonic CD I still regard as the best game ever created though (and I've gotten quite excellent at time attacking it). I usually have a pretty unusual taste in games generally, which will probably become obvious when I start to post (and I feel the need to point out that I am not trolling most of the time. Err yes. It's 23:35 here and I can't think of anything else to write now. Good night.

Kimimi here, some of you have have bumped into me elsewhere on the internet already. If you haven't then the basics are - I love all sorts of games, especially Sega, RPGs (been buying/looking into a lot of Chinese ones lately), side-scrolling beat em ups (fighters for you US folk, right?) and manic vert shmups. I've owned most of the big stuff between the Atari 400 to the PS3. Recently played - Yggdra Union (GBA), Sora no Kiseki the Third (PSP) and Taiko no Tatsujin Appare Sandaime (PS2). HOLY FOLEY... if it ain't Kimimi herself. At least here you won't have people confusing you for being a red-blooded male Good to see you here, Kim. I saw the name on the main forums page as one of the last posters in an emulation thread, and did a double take. Had no idea you posted anywhere else outside of GF! Anyway, you know who I be. Long live Saturn eh

Hello everyone. I figured that this was the best place to get my 1st post out of the way, so that it doesn't end up in some raging debate (and make me look like the scrub with one post who likes to watch himself type). So, the handle's bdh (meant to capitalize the letters, don't know why I didn't), and it's short for "Big Damn Heroes", like the TV trope; I'm a sucker for cheesy, last-minute acts of daring-do and stuff.
Sadly, I'm not half as interesting as the name I use, but here's a few fun facts: - I was born and raised in Jamaica - but because I was a nerd with no one in my age group living nearby, I didn't really go outside much. Basically, I'm a J.I.N.O. (Jamaican In Nationality Only) - I lack that "island spirit", if you know what I mean. - I grew up a generation behind in video game consoles; by the time the PS1 came out, the teens in my neighborhood were just getting into the SNES, and stuff like that. It was like that until the PS2 came out. Despite being 18, I grew up playing some of the best and worst of the old-school - so you can imagine the kick I got out of seeing some of my favorite games on this site, like Shatterhand or Dynamite Headdy. - I like to think of myself as a "classically trained" gamer, the type of person who know the difference between beating a game and pressing start until you reach the end credits. My first video game was a LCD Spiderman Ripoff ("Spider-Dude") - played it until the battery died out.
Actually, I like lots of old stuff - old movies, old TV shows, old manga. I don't care about how something looks, as long as it's interesting. I'll play any type of video game for the same reason. Lately, I've been on a fighting game tear - for the last 2 months, I've been playing nothing but fighters, especially SNK games. I don't know why - I guess it's making up for all the times I got whupped by the fireball trap in my youth - but I've come to love the madness of NEO-GEO. "Get Mega-Shocked", indeed.
Well, that's all I can think of. Sorry for the long post, but that's the first time in years that I've been able to describe myself clearly, and I was on a roll. It felt great, too. I promise I won't clutter up the rest of the boards this way, though.

Hello everyone and welcome bdh! . I'm new too, so decided to post here first. Ok...I have been reading the articles on this site for many years and lurking around the forums but never registered until now. I'm not going to tell much about my game collection (see my sig for more info) but I do enjoy lots of different games both old and new.

Woah! Goomba! Well they both look similar if I'm thinking of the right monster (I only played the cards a long time ago). He is the one who looks like a coconut, right? If so, that does make sense!
Thanks for the info, and enjoy your stay!

Thanks, I will! I'm not sure what kind of monster kuribo is. I've never played any YugiOh-cards, actually . I learned about that from another forum I visited...

I didn't really play them either, but I'm a youngin' so I did when they were in. Shared a deck with my bro.
