Tastes differ, that's nothing unusual. And most often times, people tend to use strong words like "love" and "hate" even for minor bursts of feelings towards something. But don't be mistaken, I actually mean it if I say I hate furries. =P
You seem to love video games. Nothing to be embarrassed about. This is the exact right place for you. ;D

I enjoyed what happened, so I'm staying as long as my attention span holds up. But that's beside the point. Did you say something about making a game, and wanting input? Cause that actually sounds interesting.

earthphantomts: Yes. After some chat with the staff, I will settle to post minor stuff and progress in the Self Promotion topic. I think getting a workable prototype ready would be a good base to go about feedback in the long run. I'd really like to have lengthy conversations with walls of text, but let's save that for later. Maybe I'll just start or revive a general discussion for anything more in-depth concerning gameplay and general game design of brawlers. That might even prove to be more interesting for everyone involved. Oh, yeah, just to make it more clear, I am working on a sidescrolling Beat 'em up like Final Fight. It's gonna be 2D, far from flashy or eccentric and pretty much down to earth. Just walking from left to right and smashing in faces in between. I guess if you don't have a thing for the genre, it might not be too interesting for you.

Hey all, I'm Nina, my favorite consoles are the Dreamcast and the SNES, and I love Bubblegum Crisis. I love JRPGs, with my personal favorite being The World Ends with You.
I've always been really into retro gaming, but school's been taking up a lot of my time. Rest assured, I'll get back on my feet. Probably going to get around to replaying Front Mission Gun Hazard since I loved playing it a lot as a kid.

I had no idea what a furry was until I started wasting time on Internet forums, and I still don't think of them as being real. I mean, I know they probably exist, somewhere, but whatevs. I do like a lot of the Breath of Fire character designs. Rand and Rei are badasses. I mean, the series has tons of dragons too, right? If a handful of people started wearing dragon costumes and possibly having sex in them, referring to themselves as "Dragonies" or whatever, would that suddenly make dragons uncool? Fuck that. Went from a juggle focused Sengoku 3 system back to more simple combo strings which simply knock enemies down. It's interesting to see how engaging simple gameplay is. It's reassuring to hear that, actually. The problem with incorporating longs combos, juggles and other more advanced VS fighter techniques in beat 'em ups is that the game then expects you to perform them all the time, otherwise they would be game-breakingly powerful. So instead of knocking a group of enemies down with three rapid punches, now you have to pull a 30-hit combo every single time. It gets very tedious very fast. You can actually have variety AND simplicity (see Double Dragon Advance, most Nekketsu games or Vendetta), but even straight limited gameplay can be fun and involving if it's intense enough (the original arcade version of Final Fight). Also FF6 is great, and people need to stop hating on the World of Ruin, because gathering up your party in a broken world in and taking them on side-quests is really cool.

Did I...seriously get people debating the merits of Final Fantasy VII in the welcome thread? I'm sorry, so so sorry...err, I mean, "Cool!" Off Course!

Hi there! I'm Patrick. I've been eyeing the forums for a bit and decided to sign up but I've been using the website for a few years. Wanted a place that seemed nice where I could talk about video games because I'm severely lacking that in my life and a lot of my old haunts got really grimy or politically awful. So hi! My main interest is probably CRPGs from 90s/00s and JRPGs of the PS/PS2 era but I'm into whatever, especially indie games and adventure games. So yeah! I'm not the most well versed guy but I'd love to chat and learn

Heya Patrick. Seems like an older crowd here than usual. I think that accounts for some of it.

Greetings to you all! Been a long time reader of the articles before deciding to make myself known here!
The videogames I love are classic FPS (Specially Doom wads), roguelikes, RPG's, adventure games, stealth games, and turn-based strategy.
