Okay, a guide of sorts to the first link. Just covers the CV music. Sorry if it sounds demeaning to anybody, but I compiled this for people not familiar with the series
悪魔城ドラキュラ
= Akumajo Dracula, classic Castlevania, or Super Castlevania 4, or the Haunted Castle arcade game, or the x68000 version (this is complicated by the fact that there is a PlayStation remake of the game with an added remix soundtrac; for purposes of clarity the page's author has called the other version by the Chronicles name so people know it's a remix of the new soundtrack). All used the same name in Japan. Tracks from these games:
H-CVACCROSS.mp3 - Cross Your Heart, from Haunted Castle.
MOON FIGHT - from the x68000 game.
You Goddamned Bathead - Dracula boss music from x68000 game. lol @ this pun.
LOAD BGM - This is a really great track (once you get past the Famicom loading - which ends with the characteristic 'ble-eip!' The actual song starts about 7.5 seconds in). This isn't the music loader from the disk version of the original Castlevania, but rather the music that loads while the x68000 game is loading.
悪魔城伝説
= Akumajo Densetsu (Legend of Demon Castle), Castlevania III. Tracks from this game on the page: Riddle, Stream, Aquarius (bonus trivia: "Aquarius" is also the name of a track from Taito's arcade game Night Striker).
DRACULA-X ドラキュラX血の輪廻
= Rondo of Blood (actually some people say that "Reincarnation of Blood" is correct; it's hard to say. The title may or may not have different meanings, depending on who you ask, but 'Rondo' caught on long ago - seems likely since Igarashi took the musical motif and ran with it!)
There is one track from this game on the page currently, a remix of that game's version of Bloody Tears (the daylight theme from Castlevania II on the NES). You can tell it's based off that from the bit starting at roughly 33.7 seconds, lasting until the song loops at about 59 sec.
悪魔城ドラキュラX 月下の夜想曲
= Symphony of the Night (the bit after the X really translates as Nocturne in the Moonlight). Stands for either the Saturn or PSX version - these have different music. Tracks from this game:
H-XLOST.mp3 - I think this is Lost Painting.
H-XMARBLE.mp3 - Marble Gallery
H-XCRYSTAL.mp3 - Crystal Teardrops
H-XCASTLE.mp3 - Dracula's Castle. A fan favorite always!
悪魔城年代記
= Castlevania Chronicles. This is the entry from 2004/05/08 marked "Vampire Killer." The music this remix is based off is itself a remix!
悪魔城ドラキュラ Circle of the Moon (GBA)
Well, gee, let's just take a wild guess. 'tis music from Super Castlevania IV remixed on the GBA, and here remixed with MIDI. The track is "Clockwork Mansion."
-----THE FOLLOWING GAMES ARE NOT CASTLEVANIA, OK?-----
グラディウスII
= Gradius II. Looks like the logo for Dracula 2 (aka Castlevania II), but it's not.
More to follow later?
(Inviting arguments over Rondo of Blood/Reincarnation of Blood name controversy?)
