Thank you. Now, anyone know the best way to utilize this? It seems much more confusing than I thought it would be. ale.emuunlim.com/guides/winuae-setup.shtmlNot sure if this is the guide I used, but it looks pretty thorough. Now remember you do have to provide your own Kickstart roms but they're a LOT easier to find online now than say about 10 years ago.

Re-reading your statement I notice you never said it was broken, but that you didn't know how to activate the states. Well, I believe the save state keys are off by default, so just enter the "controls" option in the emu, and bind a key to the save/load state option. Just be careful to what you bind them to, since it will conflict with other emu keys that cannot be moved around, and the emu won't even tell you if there's a a conflict of keys. So that pretty much means you can't use any of the F# keys for that. Ah, there it was hidden. Thanks! Ugh, turns out savestates don't work with the game I wanted them for (because it doesn't recognize the virtual VMUs and crashes frequently) after all. Guess I'll file it as "effectively unemulated" then...

Well, I only tried states with Atomiswave and it worked fine. It's possible that it's broken for other systems, just like the newer version has it globally broken.

Thank you. Now, anyone know the best way to utilize this? It seems much more confusing than I thought it would be. Instead of WinUAE, my personal emulation choice for about 95% of Amiga games would be FSUAE. It's the same emulation core, but the interface is a whole lot nicer. Besides that, you've got better controller support, some pretty decent netplay, and instant support for WHDLoad, which means you can grab about 3,000 or so games from this particular site, with no disk swapping and some heavily reduced load times. If you try loading these through WinUAE, you have to physically install WHDLoad on a hard drive, which can be a major pain. About the only thing WinUAE currently does better is running the high-end Amigas, which you'll need to play, say, the FPSes. If you want to go that route, I'd personally recommend you grab this. You'll still need the six Kickstart installer disks, which are floating around online, but if you follow the instructions, it takes care of everything for you. The OS is pretty bloated if you just want to play games on it, but on well.

Not sure why they don't put out DOSBox v0.75. I've long since started using the most recent SVN release. They've fixed a lot of stuff since v0.74.

Thank you for this. Mainly for the suggestion on the PC Engine emulator recommendation. I used Magic engine until they decided to start charging for it. If someone can tell me, is that even legal to make money off of an emulator? As far as I know that is the only emulator that you have to pay for. Good idea, actually. I always have people bugging me over what to get. All these are Atma tested, Atma approved. (I hope you don't mind I'm stealing your formatting here~) NESNestopiaOkay, first and foremost, get ready to hear ME LOVE FRAMESKIP about 5 billion times in this post. That said...well, I do like frameskip! This and stability/compatability are my #1 things I look for in an emulator before anything else. And Nestopia gives me the sweet skipping I so desire whereas pretty much every other NES emu I've tried hasn't. No sound or game compatibility issues on my end have ever been experienced. ALSO TRY: FCEUltra.SNESSnes9xI love this thing. Windows nicely, screen fitting settings, multiple sound/compatibility tools, frameskip, nice stable netplay. While ZSNES may be your King, Snes9x is mine for giving me the least grief ever. ALSO TRY: bsnesGAME BOY/COLOR/ADVANCEVisual Boy AdvanceThe undisputed champ. Filters, options and some insanely nice frameskip make this a must. Accept no lesser emulators! N64Project64Extremely high compat list and a wide array of plugins to choose from make this the must have emu. Only complaint: having to reset the game when I change plugins. PLAYSTATIONePSXeCan run pretty much anything perfectly with just the most minor of tweaking. Extremely smooth and easy setup menu. Do try the ePSXeCutor frontend. SEGA MASTER SYSTEM/GENESIS/32X/CD/GAME GEARGens Plus!It does everything but cook you breakfast. Hot damn. NEO GEONeoRage XI'm gonna have to agree with zzz here. I've never had a single problem with this emulator. Sure it's HUGE and iN YOUR FACE, but it works really smoothly and that's what matters to me. ARCADEMAME32You really can't go wrong with this. Just use it. ALSO TRY: WinKawaksPC ENGINEHu-Go!So simple yet so perfect. I've found Logitech gamepads work perfectly with every single one of these. hey you guys frameskip

DEmul can now run D2 correctly (the disc swapping works now) for those who may be interested.

And yes, it's legal to sell an emu because an emulator is not illegal. Roms, Disc Images, and BIOS are though, to some extent.

I got it through the Emulator Zone. Not sure what happened there then. I see, I just found it odd that one could actually make money off of something like that. It isn't much and it is a beast of an emulator. Thanks for the info about it.

That's because you downloaded a cracked version. I have never paid for mine either, but it has always been pay-to-play. I doubt he ever made 'real' money out of it. Maybe at the beginning, but not for the past 10 years or so.
What bothers me with these pay-me emu authors (which thankfully don't seem to exist anymore) is that they never updated the emulator as quickly as other free emus of the same era, or add options the public wants. They always work alone, on their free time, adding things slowly and dismissing options the public wants. So why would I pay for something like that when other free emus are much more robust?
Thankfully Ootake is a great TG16 and TGCD emu which has a ton of options Magic Engine doesn't have. You could also use MESS, or Bizhawk.

What bothers me with these pay-me emu authors (which thankfully don't seem to exist anymore) They're still around. They just mainly exist in mobile store fronts, selling Android versions of open source emulators like SNES9X at a dollar a pop.

Ah, I see. Since I'm completely removed from that scene, it didn't even cross my mind.
