In a similar vein to the Konami HWI stuff here, FC Motocross Champion wasn't developed internally at Konami. I'm not completely sure who made it, but I believe it was most likely an early work of Human Entertainment. It's definitely not Konami internal, though. Interesting. What is your reasoning? Do you have any proof?

I'm not completely sure who made it, but I believe it was most likely an early work of Human Entertainment. It's definitely not Konami internal, though. Interesting. What is your reasoning? Do you have any proof? 1. It came up in the results of a code comparison between two known Human-developed games (Gilligan's Island and Kabuki: Quantum Fighter) as well as a two earlier ones (Pro Wrestling and Exciting Boxing). Not proof positive on its own, but it's useful for finding likely candidates. 2. It doesn't sound like a Konami game. The music is obvious, and it doesn't have either of the pause tones that show up in virtually every Konami internal game. In fact, the pause tone sounds suspiciously similar to those in other Human-developed games from the time (Kamen Rider Black, Monster Party, some of the Power Pad games). 3. There's an established link: Human developed Exciting Boxing for Konami as well. There's also credits, but they're vague pseudonyms that are pretty much unrecognizable. Like I said, I'm not positive it's by Human, but I definitely wouldn't be surprised if it was.

Even if there isn't hard proof, you still seem to know what you are talking about. Thanks for the heads-up.
Thing is, do other Konami titles of the same and earlier years have their characteristic pause tune too? I wonder when this particular tune started appearing in their games. I'll look into some early Konami games...

I'll look into some early Konami games... The iconic one starts showing up in 1986 releases (The Goonies, Gradius, Ganbare Goemon), earlier stuff has a different one (Antarctic Adventure, Track & Field, Yie Ar Kung Fu, Road Fighter). I guess Pooyan is an exception here, but that one wasn't published by Konami anyway.

Is it important to mention that the Famicom Motocross Champion pulls a Samus Aran in the ending? As in, the rider takes off the helmet and it's actually a woman.
The weird thing is that throughout the game, the rider is shown to be a man each time you finish a race (unless someone else is wearing that medal and taking the credit). If you finish the last race in 2nd place or lower, you get the bad ending, the rider's has his back turned without the helment and it's a man (short hair). But when you finish 1st place, it's a woman!

Back to the thing about Human developing Motocross Champion: I interviewed Hitoshi Akashi, who once worked for Sonata, the company that later became Human. He said Sonata developed Konami's Exciting Boxing, which establishes a link between Sonata and Konami. In addition to the code comparison and credits evidence mentioned before, there is a sign that appears on some of the courses, which I've attached. During the course of our interview, Akashi began writing Sonata "SoNaTa." The name Sonata is a combination of the company's board members' family names. Attachments:
