2017 wasn't all that bad all things considered--quite a few gems were found, some sadly gone.
Have a soundful New One everyone !

Getting really into Chris Rea all of a sudden. For some reason I always thought he made cheesy 80's pop or something. No idea how I got that crazy idea.

These lyrics are genius. The mood reminds me of a 70's flavor of Spandau Ballet's "Gold."

I had somehow never heard of Yellow Magic Orchestra before this week. In the odd chance anyone who's reading this hasn't either, check 'em out:

I find myself listening to that album again, since you posted it, moran . It's one I've listened to for years, but I still haven't added it to my collection. Gotta put an end to that some time. Speaking of things long overdue. I've been listening to some Japanese artists lately after discovering YMO. I can't believe I never payed any attention to Japanese music. Maybe it's a subconscious thing caused by the fact that the first things that probably comes to mind to a lot of people when they think Japan and music is J-Pop and Yoko Ono, who knows. Anyway, YMO and YMO's members' solo albums, as well as Casiopea's debut album and Black Ship by Sadistic Mika Band are highlights so far. It's too bad a lot of them are hard to find on CD, meaning it's either importing them or over-paying for some mint copy.
