hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/alisia/alisia.htmLike Ranger X, this was another game I had played, but never got past the second level. I still find the game really hard overall, especially just because it feels so chaotic - you only have minimal control over your thunder attack, plus your familiars just kinda attack (and die) on their own. Plus a lot of the bad guys take a ton of hits to kill and you constantly run out of magic unless you really pay attention... Anyway, I'm particularly proud of the MP3 - I hadn't noticed it originally, but the song changes midway through the first stage to a more upbeat rendition of the same melody. I spliced both into the same song, and I think sounds about as smooth as it does in the game (which is to say, the change is noticeable, but not partiuclarly jarring)

I still need to snag a copy of this. My brother has one, but he lives in Florida, so...

I remember reading about this in some old UK video games mag back in the earli/mid ninties, and thought it looked like a cool game to be able to run around and blast stuff with Lightning.
If I was expanding my Megadrive collection (I'm not, too many games to play on my modern consoles.) I'd probably wanna look at getting a copy of this (After Shining Force 2, which I still...)
Hmmm...I wonder if that cover art was done by the Golden Axe art guy they interviewed on Sega16 recently? Looks like it.

Boris Vallejo? It'd be worth investigating, but the artwork isn't quite the same quality.
That interview was pretty cool, even if it was brief. I never knew he did the Ecco artwork.

Oh man I absolutely loved this game, I still do (another Motoi Sakuraba soundtrack too ). As soon as the game starts equip the small flying lizard familiar (the one with the boomerang type attack) and just go around the first level letting it kill respawning enemies until it's at level three. That makes him actually useful and cool.
