www.hardcoregaming101.net/dungeonexplorer/dungeonexplorer.htmDungeon Explorer is usually described as being liked Gauntlet, which is kinda half true. The Sega CD game, which is actually completely different from the original TG-16 version, is much closer to Atari's classic game. The brand was resurrected recently for portable systems, even though they're not very much like the originals. The DS one, despite being technically inferior, is quite a bit more fun than the PSP one though. Dungeon Explorer II for the TG-16 CD has some rad music too, very Falcom-ish. It makes sense, graphically it sorta resembles the Ys games, though they're not as bright.

Aside from the DS incarnation, I had no idea there were so many games in the Dungeon Explorer series. Good read.

I love this series, but the new ones on DS and PSP are pretty meh (the DS one mainly because Shining Wisdom 2 on GBA outdoes it on every level--including graphics by a country mile--and is several years older; the PSP one because it just kinda lies there and dies).

Yeah, I really gotta get it once I get a Sega CD.
And a Turbo CD... God, if my step-dood doesn't find those soon I'm gonna buy them myself!

Awesome. The new ones seemed entirely uninteresting and it's great that you explain why.
