Hey Kurt, I noticed a couple of errors in the Asteka 2 article (if you don't mind) cause spanish is my mother language. "Asteka" is actually not a japanese romanization of the english word, but although misspelled, the spanish word for Aztek. The correct way to spell it is "Azteka", which refers to the ancient central-america civilization. Also misspelled is "Temple del Sol" instead of "Templo del Sol", and I'm sure I don't need to translate that. Here's a quick link to Falcom's japanese site with all it's game titles, it seems very complete, check to see if you missed any of them: www.falcom.co.jp/licence/list_e/software.htmlAnyways, great work as always. This is the only site I always find myself coming back to.

Cool, I'll see about correcting these when I get home. Thanks!

What's with the Aruze arcade games? Are they pachinko titles or something?

I think they're "real" arcade games. I saw a tiny tiny picture of the Sorcerian game but know nothing about it.

Neat! I'd like to give those a shot.
Oh, and did anybody else find that hidden path to the Nunnery in Tombs? Its strange, because it offers like, one clue for the entire game.

Are those NGPC games even related? I think it's by coincidence.

Oh, this is a really old one. I know it doesn't really get much into the first game, since you couldn't play much of it then, but just for the record, it is an eroge. It's not really recognizable on the tiny coverscan we have, but the statue is holding a nude lady (unfortunately only available on a site that puts "sample" stamps on all stuff, but its still much better than what we got): The quality of the nude images in the game leaves no doubt as to which part of the graphics the artist payed the most attention to: The Japanese PC-88 database states that Asteka reused the same adventure system established by a former Falcom game, Demons Ring: refugee2005.sakura.ne.jp/library/1984/1984_3.htm#demonsThis page has an advertisement flyer for the second game: gamedic.jpn.org/museum/tirasi/fcavg/Small PC-98 coverscan: ww3.tiki.ne.jp/~b-hawk/master/review02.htmThe PC-88 database once again has a watermarked, but better quality scan: refugee2005.sakura.ne.jp/library/1986/1986_10.htm#asu2It also lists the sequel for 1986 rather than '87. Is it a coincidence that Tintin: Le Temple du Soleil was apparently published in Japan in 1985 and had the exact same Japanese title as the second game?

Asteka II PC88 cover, with no sample : iirc the pc (88, 98 etc) manual for AstekaII is quite informative, as it also dedicates a few pages talking about Aztecan history. I can upload it if anyone is interested.

Did a bit of reading on this one - I don't think it's quite an eroge because it appears that the nude pictures are hidden, or at least not experienced during the normal course of the game. I did find this in my guidebook though: The famous Marilyn Monroe picture! They must have digitized these pictures, cleaned them up and snuck them in. There's also an easter egg for Asteka 2, where you can strip the clothes from this girl (on a loading screen)? Got cut off a bit in the scanner though.

Man, why is it that some of the most known RPG developers started out with games featuring nudity?
From what I know, those that had at least one game with nudity before becoming famous were Enix, Square (allegedly; I'm not sure about that), Koei (not sure if this counts since Koei's games were mostly strategy titles) and now Falcom.
And that's probably why the sequel was the only one to be re-released.
