I'm curious how different the PC versions of these are from their GBA counterparts - are they straight ports, or is the interface changed at all?

It looks the same to me. It even still has on-screen icons for the A, B, L, and R buttons.

I can't read Japanese, but does that info page recommend a 2 GHZ processor just to run Gyakuten Saiban?

The port must be even worse than Ubisoft's Onimusha 3 port to PC.

At that rate I'd imagine that they're just bundling a GBA emulator with the ROM files...since it takes about 2 GHz to get a fully playable framerate (i.e. no frameskip, full sound quality and maximum screen size) out of VisualBoyAdvance.

That's incorrect! If you select the right display mode, you can get 100 percent efficiency out of a 1 GHz processor.

With the occasional hiccup. I had VBA running on a 1 GHz running Windows 98, with near-full framerate - except when playing more complex games like Doom and Iridion 2.

The port must be even worse than Ubisoft's Onimusha 3 port to PC. SourceNext´s*. Ubisoft tweaked it a little (just a little) and released it on west. Actually, AFAIK porting from Gamecube or Xbox is easier than porting from a Playstation2.

I didn't know about the GameCube but the Xbox has a Windows-based OS so I figure yeah, that would be the easiest console to port from.

Btw, the best GC games are from nintendo, and they will NEVER authorize a win port. Playstation 2 has 2 main processors, 2 weird processors if you ask me, look at the rate it can do math with float numbers, it is kinda like the saturn of the old new generation! Most of the good ps2 games would run some dedicated code that uses the 2 processors and whatnot, it would be difficult to port that. Gamecube has a RISC processor from IBM, not that big of a deal.

PASSIONATE BUMP BURNING RED... yeah, so... this article's going to have to be updated because of Apollo Justice.

Yeah I just burned through the first case today.
I don't know, for months I've gotten the impression that this would be a letdown based off of importers...but so far I think they're full of crap. The first case was fantastic and the new characters so far are shaping up to be pretty cool. I already started stealing borrowing images from the Court Records, but it'll still be awhile before I can actually play through it.
I gotta add a little bit on Harvey Birdman too, because it's essentially using the same gameplay system, even if it isn't executed half as well.

Glad to see you deem it awesome, Kurt! Better than JFA, eh? ;D
Man, I hope it A: comes for me this weekend, and B: I get to go home this weekend to pick it up. I'm surprisingly really loving all the English names, despite the initial opposition to Trucy (whom I now adore).

I tried Harvey Birdman on PSP once. Didn't like it at all. It's executed badly. It also didn't helped that I'm not familiar with the cartoon series.
