www.hardcoregaming101.net/almananokiseki/almananokiseki.htmGot another trilogy of articles coming up, this one focuses on a Konami FDS game that's a huge ripoff of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, but comes with some interesting (if awkwardly implemented) swinging/grappling mechanics. It's no Bionic Commando, but it's pretty fun, once you get used to it.

"which, in 1987, hadn't been released it"
Should probably be "yet"

Anyway, it's good to see that you mentioned Roc 'n Rope, but I'm surprised that you didn't draw more of a connection between the two. Given that they both have what looks like it might be the very same Indiana Jones rip-off hero with the exact same grappling hook, I always assumed that Almana no Kiseki was something of a spiritual sequel, and not merely an expansion of the same concept.

Might that be a trilogy of Konami FDS games, by any chance? Was thinking about it, but not yet. The other is an FDS game by Nintendo, the other is a cart that's remarkably bad but somewhat innovative and really weird.

*including the usual human foes
*and it's way better than even later games
*a fuller texture than it's typical of most early

I wonder if there would have been more music tracks for the American version, had there been one? The first stage track sounds very unfitting for the final stage.
