www.hardcoregaming101.net/vaportrail/vaportrail.htmI'd heard of Vapor Trail before, but I never realized it was a loosely connected series of three games, including Rohga and Skull Fang. Vapor Trail is a fairly typical, if well made, overhead shooter with some interesting designs, while Rogha/Wolf Fang is a shooter/sidescroller combo with some cool mech customization. The final game, Skull Fang, is just kinda bleh.

Sadly, Rohga is a terrible game. :/ - HC Agreed. Great idea, great aesthetics, but not quite as playable as it needs to be.

Man, surely you kid. It's just mean because your hitbox is so huge. Well, regardless, it is the best one in the "series."

So I was just looking through this article and noticed the bit about the path selection in the Japanese version- this actually kind of interests me, because one of my big issues wit the game is that it's so damn long. Would it be possible to update the article with a screenshot of one of the mission-select things? I'm kind of curious as to what it looks like, and I can't seem to find a shot of it on the 'net. :/ Have you ever had a rare game that you played once or twice, breifly, as a kid, mostly forgot about, and then hunted for years only to unearth it and find it to be a huge disappointment? That was Rohga for me. I first played it in a hotel in Florida when on vacation there as a middle schooler (am I dating myself?), and it seemed so awesome... A pity it's such a tedious, repetitive, and cheap affair. - HC

I would get them but they will probably not get added to the article.

I really liked Rohga myself. Then I love these side scrolling mech games.

Why would you bump this years-old thread to make a comment that adds nothing to the topic?

The article was just updated and featured, so that's probably why.

Oh, sorry then CMR. I didn't notice there was an edit update on the OP *edit* What exactly was updated to the article? I still don't see the path selection images for Wolf Fang and Skull Fang doesn't mention the differences between the Japanese and USA versions. Mainly that the Japanese version is fully voiced by different characters.

Nothing, it's just featured since Wolf Fang was released on PSN in North America.
I'm not really clear what the differences are since I played Wolf Fang like one, for the posting of this article several years back. Can anyone elaborate, beyond the voices?

Wolf Fang (2nd game) has multiple paths, this is mentioned, but there are no images of this. Not essential, but it would be nice to have pics of the map selection. Or the ending images that you can only get in the Japanese version.
Skull Fang (3rd game) The USA version removed a lot of the speech contained in the Japanese version. In the Japanese version, the playable characters have spoken lines while playing. Also, there are 3 operators (2 female, 1 male) that give you status updates and hints during the game. In the USA version, only the male operator is present and he only gives you generic congratulatory messages.
