I found this PS2 version of the game that is homebrew. Thought it might be worth mentioning in the article. www.megidish.net/flashback/Obviously you will need a way to play backups on your PS2 to play it.

That's actually a PS2-native port of Reminiscence, an SDL rewrite of Flashback's engine that will run in Win32, Linux, PSP, Dreamcast, and many others.

*bump* The article should be updated sometime; here's why: The CD-I version isn't listed in here. Also, the year should be 1992. The Amiga version actually came first in 1992. The Genesis and PC disk versions were released a year after. It should be pointed out that the original name for Out of this World (US title) is Another World. Last, but not least, the biggest reason for updating the article: The French-only beta of unreleased Flashback Legends for GBA

The Amiga version actually came first in 1992. The Genesis and PC disk versions were released a year after. This MUST have been in Europe only - I remember specifically following the game when it came out in the States, and they definitely came out around the same time in early 93. No one really cared about the Amiga in the States, but being that Delphine was French, it would make sense, I guess, if that were the initial platform. Had no idea about that GBA game - I just grabbed it. Looking at the shots, it's weird that they entirely redid the background graphics but Conrad's sprite looks almost exactly the same.

There's also a Flashback for the FM Towns.

In 1992, the game was released for Amiga in France only. The English versions didn't came out until 1993.

Jeez, glad they didn't release the GBA port- the redone graphics are horrible.

www.romhacking.net/trans/1411/Quite interesting. I haven't found the prototype ROM yet, also, this seems to be the only source of information I have to it, I think it's safe to assume this is legit no? EDIT: Got a ROM from ROM Hustler. I have to say, for a prototype, it actually plays pretty well, the game play itself feels like playing the original Flashback (Conrad is now a lil bit slower perhaps), sadly though, the levels no longer use static screens.

Yeah I know I gotta add this. I never got past the first level, though. Are there cheats or anything? I'd like to get more screens from it.

I can get you cheats. Gimme a couple of hours and I'll cook up some.
*EDIT*
These are for VBA
Infinite Shields (basically infinite energy) 0201F204:04
I think with that one you should have no problems. Let me know if you need any other.

Ah, sorry - didn't see this because it wasn't bumped. I'll give it a shot when I get the chance!

Well, it works! I still couldn't get past the first stage, but I DID find a cheat code - if you pause the game and highlight something other than "Continue Game" on the menu, then press L, R, Select and Start, you'll skip to the next stage. AWESOME.

Nice. That's probably a debug code for testing purposes.
