I'll stick with systems with more RPGs thanks. Ryochan, being the innocuous loudmouth that I am, I have to make a stand, which will read as follows. Saturn? RPG-less? What the whaaaaat? With or without Working designs, the SATURN, being the - strangely enough for a SEGA hardware - Japan-only blockbuster it was, was short on many things, but surely not JRPs. To quote the departed, KSH'aMoOOn!. Lunar and all it's kids mean nothing now? ( : Shamoon! Gew knoow it.

Yeah, there's not much on the Sega Saturn. There's Dark Savior and Legend of Oasis for ARPG fans and Dragon Force for SRPG fans. Anything else good? Working Designs's upcoming titles are amazing though: Albert Odyssey, Rayearth, and the Lunar remake! Man, if there's one game that I wish I had a Saturn for, it'd be Lunar.
And you guys saw those Grandia screens? It's shaping up to be the SS's version of FFVII. I'm sure NCS and Tronix will have it in stock for those of you who import.

Yep, OK. If we stick to the classical description of a JRPG, then my big mouth let me down again. I guess the fact that in the end, the very few great JRPG there was were so great, that they overshadowed the fact that evidently, in the end, there were so little of them - or in Dreamcast terms, what we call the "skies of Arcadia" effect. Sometimes a masterpiece is so bright, it clouds my vision....

In the winter of '96, I ended up getting my first job. It was at a drug store / discount outlet chain called Marc's. Not sure if those are nationwide or what. Anyway, it was just regular stock work, but one of the great things was that it was right next door to a Blockbuster. It was the Christmas season, so we would have to go out to round up shopping carts from the parking lot pretty much on an hourly basis. It also meant we had plenty of time to run over to Blockbuster and play Mario 64 on the demo station they had set up over there.
That was a pretty good job, all things considered. As it happens, one of my friends from high school was working there at the same time, and ended up getting fired over those little "breaks". Good times.

What do you guys think of Mario's voice? Doesn't he sound a bit like a pussy? I wish they'd just taken the voice actor from the cartoon series. Or Bob Hoskins.

There's a Japanese movie she should watch... it's called Uzumaki. MMmmh-mhh... why, man? Is it based on spiral-like patterns... I am intrigued here... go on. It is an ultra-weird mystery/horror movie (more mystery than horror, though) about a village where everyone gets obsessed with spiral patterns. It's very creepy and on second thought it might even make the girl hate spiral patterns after watching it.

Yeah, it'll probably never happen though, you know how rumors are. I can't wait for more Sonic games, I just know they'll all be good!

Guys, I got this awesome game called Wipout 2097, it's unlike anything on your crappy 64s! It's like these hovercraft things going at ridiculously high speeds through winding courses, the soundtrack's also awesome, I mean they got Prodigy's Fire Starter on there, for fuck's sake!

Baw, I like beat em ups!
Can you imagine a beat em up set in Ancient China where I get to kill 1000s of enemies with ONE guy!? It'd be amazing.
Like THAT would ever happen.
