Regardless of that, this is a fine BEU that made me wish Irem made more of them. Not that I'd complain about them making shmups either. Heh... Oh, and a question: What new moves do our boys gain when they're flashing red? So far, I haven't really noticed any difference. The only FAQ I've seen for the game is this: www.gamefaqs.com/coinop/arcade/file/568361/21035Which says you don't gain any moves, it just indicates you CAN'T use some of the moves which take away your own energy. Another Irem beat'em up is Hook, as mentioned in the article, which has pretty good gameplay and lots of characters, but it is based on that horrible movie so the atmosphere is not the most interesting...

Whenever you are flashing red, everyone seems to have an extended and more violent grab & pound (not sure what the technical term is) then a throw.
And yes, the emulation skips alot.

I vaguely remember putting about ¥100 into an arcade machine with my friend Dom to try it out. It was pretty fun, not that we got very far in it either. Still, it made a distinct impression and I'm glad to see it got a well written article... though show some respect for the Cubs (not that their current level of play suggests they deserve it, but still...).

Actually, even though I'm from St. Louis, I'll take the Cubs over the Cards any day. Great to see Sammy get his 600.

If anybody is looking for any other extremely bizarre beat-em-ups, try PuLiRuLa. It is as close are there is to a Parodius of beat-em-ups.

Well, I can't be 100% sure that this is legit, but it shows the Irem logo, and also states their copyright, other than most of the dirty stuff I encounter here. Legit or not, it is, however, most likely to be a straight emulation. There's a few screenshots: www.derboo.de/files/bbatpc3.jpgWhat's even more weird is this one: Now we all know that there's no sequel to Ninja Baseball Bat Man, so judging by the usual release policy here this might contain an unrelated Irem game, a hacked version or even something else.

Korea has some weird releases. Even some of the officially licensed stuff there seems a bit shady.

Yeah, if I was wealthy, I'd grab that sucker just to see if it runs on MAME (it's totally cheap, but so am I)

Just found this on Cinemassacre on a vid about the game: a site by one of the guys who came up with the game. www.ninjabaseballbatman.com/It was apparently created by some folks at Irem's US division.

Recently, i notice that Mad Lax (Stage 2 Boss) is parody of "Mad Max"
My favorite is Strawhat, though his swing (atk speed) is slow but has longest reach and quite strong

This game is surprising one of the best beat 'em ups of it's era, for a concept so batshit crazy.

You're not talking about this are you? This is the final print. Me and BigBangBlitz requested the website to be online, as well as having the interview made.
