Fireballs are completely worthless in 3rd Strike, if your opponent is any good at parrying.

And yes there is such a thing as body projectiles. E. Honda's flying headbutt move, Blanka's spinning body thing, Cammy's drill kick whatever-the-fuck-it's-called, etc. They even discuss body projectiles on SRK.If you really want to call propelling your character's body "projectile combat" (which they aren't), may I introduce you to Bane's Cursed Kick, Skull Crusher, Fang Gutter or Mutilator? An that's just Bane, every Character in Weaponlord has such moves.

What info is "really interesting and viewpoint-changing"? Most of what he posted was just anal retentive nit picking. Let's see, what did I post before someone started to get insulting? - Valuable and interesting background info on the game's online design, which wasn't even mentioned with a single word before (despite the big Xband logo on the box, which might have deserved at least a passing note even before that interview). - Significant gameplay differences between versions the article completely ignored. The SNES version is one of the most broken fighting games I ever played. The Genesis one not quite so. - A broken hyperlink. What does a broken hyperlink? It gives 404 errors and creates the impression the linked site doesn't exist anymore, which destroys the purpose of even having the link.

Fireballs are completely worthless in 3rd Strike, if your opponent is any good at parrying. Well, fireballs are still used as pokes, to finish up combos, and to mix up with supers to thwart parry attempts. Plus, denjin hadoken is still very effective at close-range. With Gouki, you can mix them up as well. So no, they're not useless, just not anywhere near as effective as in SF2. But it still has projectile combat. But again, if a game has projectiles, it's a projectile game. SF2 had 4/8 (5/12 in CE, 7/16 in SSF2). WeaponLord is comparable.

And seriously, Disco, it really wigs me out how you always cave immediately to any complaint made by some anal retentive stranger on the internet, yet none of the legitimate criticisms toward the site have ever resulted in any changes. Uh, Derboo isn't exactly a stranger, and he's made a good case for these additions, where you just started up a bizarre semantics argument. Nothing on this site is infallible, and if anyone can add to anything currently up, I'm usually for adding it.

Bumping an old thread, but I don't care. I needed to look something up on this game and I found that the article was remodeled! It looks really good with the new formatting. I like all the magazine scans and extra information too. It looks really nice and I want to complement everyone who is working to improve the older parts of this site.
