Master of Puppets Among the Disease is only found in the PC versions, right? That's one of my favorite songs, shame it wasn't used elsewhere. That's why I included it in the MP3 pack.
This always confused me because I'd had tons of CDs with arranged Snatcher music but wasn't familiar at all with any of them. At the time I hadn't realized how much was cut from the Sega CD version. For example, the Blow Up Turbocycle song is totally wonked. But one of my favorite tunes is the Pleasure/Pressure of Tension, and the percussion of the Sega CD version just works way better than any other arrangement.
I still don't know why they screwed up the 32-bit versions so badly...

I still don't know why they screwed up the 32-bit versions so badly... Probably because they were made by KCE Tokyo without Kojima's involvement (who was with KCE Osaka at the time). Then again, so was the Sega CD version, but that was more or less of a localized port of the PC Engine version.

Here's fixed SD Snatcher cast picture for the article: In the current version Jamie's jacket is messed up and some pixels of the blue background is still shown (on top of Gillian's, Jamie's and Mika's heads). Also, I found one typo in the article:

Hey, I was wondering, because I've been pondering this for a while, and will probably be playing through it again soon, but does anobody know what Gillian says to Jamie before he blasts off on the Turbo Cycle? Because you can't hear what he says, but I was wondering if there is anything he does say.

It's a mystery. Come up with your own conclusion.

Sorry for opening up a old thread, but I figured this is too small for a new one.
I was playing the MSX version today, but got killed in the factory scene. How do I use my gun? Im pretty sure MSX didnt have any lightgun support, but I rapidly pressed all the keys and nothing seemed to happen.
Oh, and Im using BlueMSX.

You have to hold down the shift key, and press the numeric keys on your keyboard (either the ones to the right of it, or the ones on top of it).
It's even more awkward in the PC-88 version. In that version, you can't use the numeric keys to the right of your keyboard at all.

It's not the only one. Django does support light guns, too.

I remember playing the PC-88 version on an emulator years ago and I used the numeric keypad just fine. In fact, I think that was one of the factors that made me play that version over the MSX one (aside the ridiculously long load times in the MSX version).

Yeah, the loading times are very noticeable. Also, although I think I didnt even tried it, you cant seem to skip or make the text go any faster.

www.hardcoregaming101.net/snatcher/snatcher.htmI've just finished seeing a Nico Douga walkthrough of the Sega Saturn version. Its really not as bad as I was expecting. I could have done without the new music (a few of the tunes are actually quite epic, but most of it sound like elevator music and are quite unfitting in the context of the scenes they're played at) and some of the redrawn artwork seems to contrast with the realistic art style of the game (like Katherine's new moe-like design when she meets Gillian and Metal). They also added Katherine and Mika in the ending like they did in the Sega CD version, but they don't actually say anything since they simply recycled the same voice track from the PC Engine version, so their presences feel completely shoehorned compared to the Sega CD localization. With that said, I reread the article and I need to point out the following mistakes. Shouldn't that be "fellow". Likely because it was the first CD-ROM version of the game. The original ones were on floppy disks, and the CD-ROM media (or CD-ROMĀ², as NEC's marketing department insists on calling it) was still pretty fresh at the time, hence "Snatcher CD-ROMantic". It's sort of like how "Wolfenstein 3D" came out in a time there weren't that many 3D games. There's no interview with any of the voice actors in the Pilot Disk. The interview in the disc ("Hayasaka's CD Room") is between a Konami spokeswoman named Taeko Hayasaka (who is also in the Policenauts Pilot Disk for the 3DO if I remember correctly) and a game reviewer named Akira Yamashita, who now works for Studio Bent Stuff. They basically talk about the history of Snatcher. What does "Mo <" mean? The first time "despite" is used in this sentence is misused if I'm not mistaken. It should be "aside for". Actually, PC-8801 and the PC Engine version both had staff commentaries in GAUDY. The only version that didn't have them was the MSX2 version. They're a bit briefer and nonsensical in the PC-88 version though. That's actually Randam chasing the Snatcher. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but one of the masks in the Saturn is Koitsu from the Parodius series. Not sure if its worth mentioning. In the PC-88/MSX2, the clientele in Outer Heaven consists of Kamen Rider (Omen Rider), C3PO (H2O), the Xenomorph from Aliens (Eriyan), Cornelius from Planet of the Apes. Does anyone knows who Go$illla is supposed to represent? I seriously doubt its Godzilla. I also noticed that the comparison of Gibson's decapitated corpse doesn't show the Sega CD, where his torso is left intact.

Cheers, then! I'll get to fixing them when I can.
The CD-ROManitic part baffles me because it's a portmanteau of "CD-ROM" and ..."romantic"? Maybe they're using it in that older sense that I've seen the Japanese use before like "Bakumatsu Roman" for the Last Blade. Since in English it's pretty much just used to denote love stories rather than general fantasies.

Not really relevant, but I stumbled upon this in the photos I've taken from old Korean magazines and thought it was kinda funny:
