I didn't even know that Galaxy Fight had a Neo Geo CD release.

Galaxy Fight! The game with the human rocket punch, and one I might have played more of if I wasn't seduced by the free play Metal Slug machine.

My opinions on the game therein: Galaxy Fight: Bland, odd, and just not that good overall. It did introduce Bonus-kun, and Juri's pretty hot, but for the few times I played it, I wanted to stop pretty quickly right afterwards. Waku Waku 7: Totally outlandish, vibrant and colorful, fast and fluid fighting, and just quality all around. This game's just damn fun, what can I say? Even if I seem to be harboring a bit of a gradually growing dislike for anime and its many cliches, and this game has quite a bit of anime influence, I still really like the style of WW7, and it SO makes me wish Sunsoft was still around. Astra Superstars: Never played it. Sore-y. But that Satan Volte is indeed friggin' big. I found a screenshot on this page: www.vazcomics.org/mamend/A/astrass.htm

BTW, the Saturn screenshot for Waku is missing.

This is by far the best line of text on this entire site.

"Santa Claus". That's the name of the team behind the trilogy. I guess it's worth mentioning.
And Astra Super Stars' display mode is not "pseudo high-res". It's indeed "high-res" meaning that it's the very first 2D fighting game for the arcades with true hi-res graphics, despite the popular belief of it being GGX. It's just that the graphics scale constantly and they're only displayed at their "design resolution" when the zoom is at minimum.

Bonus-Kun is officially the best character ever. I just loaded Waku Waku 7 in MAME and used a cheat.dat file to play as him. He's awesome.

It's just that the graphics scale constantly and they're only displayed at their "design resolution" when the zoom is at minimum. This is mostly based off playing the Saturn version in an emulator. The "high res" elements (the HUD, mostly) looks fine, but there are terrible interlacing issues with the action. It might technically be high-res, but it doesn't look it, not in the way that Guilty Gear does.

It does if you zoom out as much as it's possible. Sure, the sprites' size is tiny, but it is as "high-res" as say, Saturn Bomber Man on its 10-players mode, PS2 Eternal Mana or the already mentioned GGX. I have the game since its release date and always played it on a 28'' RGB TV, if it serves.

If you play the game on MAME and take snapshots you can see what parts of the game are in high res and which are not if you look at the size of the image. Cotton 2 (also STV) had high and low res changes too. Strider 2 (on MAME) is like that too. Gameplay was in low res and the story intermissions were in high res. See screenshots: www.vgmuseum.com/end/arcade/b/stri2.htm

You left out Power Quest (for GBC) and Justice League Something-or-other (for SNES and Genesis). If that was deliberate, than maybe you could change the name to something like "Team Santa Claus Fighters", or whatever.
Oh, and Waku Waku 7 is awesome.

I was playing Waku Waku 7 in Kawaks(Best Neo-Geo emulator EVER!), and I had the region set to Japan. Instead of showing Fernandez, it showed up as Fernandeath.
Slash is pretty cool.
