Ninja Warriors Again is definitely my favorite one-plane beat-em-up. It sucks that it doesn't have a two player option. That would have made it infinitely better.

Remind me to play through NWA sometime. From what I've played of it, I've liked it quite a bit. Good article indeed.

Ninja Warriors...now that's a title which I enjoyed despite having nothing special. On the other hand I've never heard about a sequel but it looks interesting nevertheless.

Ouch. The dig on Peace Keepers hurts. I actually liked The Peace Keepers quite a lot.

Ouch. The dig on Peace Keepers hurts. I actually liked The Peace Keepers quite a lot. I wish I could say that I like TPK as well, but it just got horribly botched in the American translation. Rushing Beat Shura is where it's at.

Ouch. The dig on Peace Keepers hurts. I actually liked The Peace Keepers quite a lot. I wish I could say that I like TPK as well, but it just got anally raped in the American translation. Rushing Beat Shura is where it's at. I don't mind that they took out half of the music and the Byakko/Seiryu/Genbu/Suzaku stuff. And though I'm normally against political correctness, I can't fault them too much for turning one of the main characters black in the US version. I don't feel too raped when a 16-bit game becomes less asian-themed when it crosses the pond. I don't know Japanese (and don't plan on learning it), so I don't really know how much the original's storyline hinges on Japanese culture.

I think it needs to be mentioned that Ninja Warriors Again has some of the weirdest sound effects ever. Every time you kill a dude they sound like they're quacking.

Necropost!
Does anyone know if there was a different edition of the MegaCD release? I'm seeing a version listed on a Japanese store for what I'm interpreting as a "first press with CD single".

Recently played through the PC Engine version and I simply had to use cheats.
Because not only is not taking dammage constantly nearly impossible, but when I did I ran out of time against a boss later on. Overall not that great of an experience.

The SNES Mighty Morphin Power Rangers just FEELS like a Ninja Warriors mod (and it probably is, if Natsume made both). Also Sufami Turbo game Carrangers (probably the rarest, seeing as how byuu said it was the most difficult in his set to obtain without being gouged) is likely based on that as well. (Sufami Turbo was a SFC cartridge adapter Bandai made probably so they could churn out licensed crap even faster, though having two slots).

I think the first Ninja Warriors in the arcade, is quite great. The multiple screen gives it a whole lot of more tactical depth imo. SNES Ninja Warrios is great too... but would've been better 3 screens long.
