I haven't played it yet, but the art style of Commando 3 looks like crap to me. It looks more like a parody of the Commando games than a legit sequel.
If anyone cares though, the new Bionic Commando remake identifies Super Joe as "Joseph Gibson" from Mercs

Commando 3 is really generic. I feels like it has no personality at all. That's the problem with a lot of the XBLA titles out there. It technically has good gameplay but it's really not rewarding to actually play the damn thing.

I'm actually down with the art style. I just think the environments are really bad, and the level design really needed some work.

The art of the characters is fine. I just don't like the rest of the game.

In the article it says Senjou no Ookami would translate to Battlefield of the Wolf, but shouldn't it be the other way around? Wolf of the Battlefield or The Battlefield's Wolf respectively?
And sorry if this wasn't the right way of asking for this, but I couldn't find any existing thread on the article or any general "article correction" thread.

Literally, yes, but in this case they amount to the same thing. I believe the official one, with the release of Commando 3, is Wolf of the Battlefield.

Some info on home computer Commando: The game was censored in Germany and released as Space Invasion. Commando / Space Invasion on the Commodore 64 Elite was also making their own sequel called Commando '86 but somewhere along the line it was changed to Duet. The game was similar to Gauntlet rather than Commando and it never got a stand alone release, instead it was included as a bonus seventh, free, game on the 6-Pak Hit Pak compilation. The earlier version still called Commando '86 and the released version (C64).

"What really stands out about this port is Original Mode. Original Mode has the same basic gameplay, enemies, and weapons as the arcade game, except with completely redesigned levels. Furthermore, Original Mode also has multiple characters (each with their own unique weapon) that are found in tents throughout the course of the game. After meeting them, just pause the game to choose from whoever has joined your party at that point. Each character has his own life bar, but there is no continuing whatsoever in Original Mode, making the difficulty much higher than that of Arcade Mode. Each tent also offers items to purchase with medals that are scattered throughout each level. Needless to say, the Genesis port is pretty great, and would probably be even better than the arcade version if not for the lack of a multiplayer option."
Another cool thing about this mode is that it features a completely unique soundtrack, which is pretty good.
