I'm super-excited for that, actually. I've been saying since Ys Origin that Falcom really needed to make an Ys fighting game... and now, they're doing it!! I've been waiting YEARS to pit these characters against one another Smash Bros. style, and I'll bet it turns out really awesome. (:
Also kind of interesting to hear that Ys: The Oath in Felghana is coming to PSP. That one was kind of unexpected. Makes me wonder if Ys Origin, an Ys IV remake, and an Ys V remake might be next in line, so that every Ys game will be available on the PSP - kinda like what Taito tried to do when they released Ys III, IV, and V on PS2, only probably GOOD this time. (:

Wyrd, I think the real reason why Ys VI didn't sell well on PSP is because Ys games are essentially even more underground than the Megaten games and likely to stay that way.

Not necessarily. It was a pretty shoddy port, like Tom said, and it was already out on the PS2. It was also released around the time the PSP first came out and no one really cared about the PSP in general.

I'm going to refrain from getting excited until they actually get a publisher... this means basically nothing :/

Extra! Extra! Publisher announced for Falcom PSP games. Texas Instruments will be handling all ports, but instead of translating the games to English, they'll be translated to numbers, as they feel they'll be able to sell more copies this way, since math is the UNIVERSAL language. (Hope no one thinks I'm serious, because that would just be sad!) -Tom

Ys on the TI-83 would kick ass.

They should really release an Ys game on an Iphone- the series simple gameplay would really adapt well to it. Might also get the series more recognition from all the I-phone whores out there ;D

That's actually not a bad idea! One of the bump system games would make for a GREAT iPhone port. And I mean, hell, if someone can be bothered to make Xanadu Next for the N-Gage, I don't see why Ys for the iPhone would be any MORE far-fetched. -Tom

To say the least I-phone games could do with a classic rpg- they have high end MP3 sound with headphones so something equivalent of the PC Engine port couldn't hurt. Sure it means Ys 1+2 being ported AGAIN but hey- it couldn't take much to improve the shoddy DS ports. (3d Cackgrounds! ooh! Shoddy new sections...yeah (loads up Ys Complete again)
