www.hardcoregaming101.net/willybeamish/willybeamish.htmI'm not even really sure if this is ready for publication, but hey, why not. This is the third and final Dynamix adventure game that needed to be covered. It's filled with annoying design issues, like the rest of them, but it also has a lot of branching paths and alternate events. Weird, amusing sense of humor too.

I played this game all the way to completion, and always found it be yo be a bit strange. I even still have my boxed copy.
The only place I remember really getting stuck was around the middle of the game where Willys' frog is kidnapped.
It's worth playing, but it's not a game I'd go back too, and I've played most adventure games 3 or 4 times over.

I never made it through the game (I owned the Sega CD edition); I got stuck on the kitchen puzzle for all sorts of reasons (sticky controls, unsure of hot spots, strict time limit), and was sick of seeing the "game over" animations(1)....and the minutes upon minutes of loading between attempts. I know there was more animation involved with Willy Beamish, but the Sega CD version of Rise of the Dragon played a HELL of a lot better overall (at least I beat that one).
(1) Not sure if the PC version had this too or not (I didn't see it on the Youtube death compilation, or at least don't remember it) but there was an extra scene after the (already depressing) drowning scene that was like an extra kick to the nuts: After the scene of Willy dying, you get to see the villains eating frog legs (presumably Willy's pet frog Horny as well). Big fun, (not really) especially after watching Spider-Man get dissolved in acid with his wife in another Sega CD game.

This is all good and well... but is this adventure game theme ever going to let up? I think we peaked with Longest Journey, and that was a good place to stop for awhile...

It'll stop if people are submitting articles about things other than adventure games, probably?

Whenever this list is closer to completion: hg101.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=games&action=display&thread=5662Well, probably a bit sooner. This is the kick I've been on for the past year or so.

I just read this. I have a hard time believing that. It's probably too long ago to remember what went wrong there, but the documentation describes the hard disk install, and it seems really unlikely to me that a US game at that time (with that many disks) could be released without that option. Edit: HD Install is confirmed to be on the first disk.

Oh sure, I’ve installed WB to a Amiga HD myself.
