suikoden3.htmThe music is composed by Michiru Yamane, usually known for her work in the Castlevania series, as well as Keiko Fukami and Masahiko Kimura, the latter of whom also provided the soundtrack for Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow. |
I don't see the issue with that sentence. Although, now it's changed and I'm wondering why those poor people are being called composters. I was reading the article and stopped when I noticed the first few errors, so I'll go through it when I have time to write them down. Do you guys think I should I make the recent articles a priority over going alphabetically? I was planning on going straight through and only backtracking for new releases that would fall behind my current position (in the middle of BoF atm). Edit: So I can contribute now instead of later, here're the mistakes I've noticed in the first two paragraphs of the first page. "Some of these includes Persona, Wild Arms, King's Field, and a handful of others." should be "Some of these include Persona, Wild Arms, King's Field, and a handful of others." or "This includes Persona, Wild Arms, King's Field, and a handful of others." "Although it was initially created Yoshitaka Murayama" should be "Although it was initially created by Yoshitaka Murayama" "The characters you gather filfill a number of diverse" should be 'The characters you gather fulfill a number of diverse"

I don't see the issue with that sentence. Nothing big. Just a missing colon. Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow ---> Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

Technically, none of those names are "canonical" as far as the games are concerned, since they're only used in adaptations and not in the actual games or game-related literature.

I just remembered something - Suikoden was actually ported to the PC in Japan and China. I remember seeing one like a decade ago in Chinatown but I never picked it up. I'm trying to get a copy of it, but does anyone know what the differences are? I heard it might use high res graphics but I want to verify that.
There are also references to a PC Suikoden II in China although that may nor may not be official.

This is what kozo had to say about the PC port when he was selling the game on Shmups:
"Reworked menus, very neat integration with Windows itself, higher resolution 3D battles, big color manual with art for all 108 characters, pretty box with new cover. Stuff like that. It acts as a real Windows app, it's even skinned with whatever your OS is at the time. It is Windows 95, though, so that is one thing to think about with compatibility. Not sure if that is a problem or not, but it's worked ok for me."
There isn't really anything new though so I skipped by it.

I found a torrent of it. It's really weird, the actual gameplay window is the same resolution as the PSOne game, but all of the dialogue is in a separate window beneath it, all of the character stats are off the right, etc. It also functions with a point and click interface. I'll put up some pics later, although since my computer is set to Japanese and not Chinese, it looks really weird.

I know this topic is older, but I'm just reading the article now and found an error. On the page for Tierkreis (http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/suikoden/suikoden7.htm) it says that you can't name the hero. This is untrue, he's totally nameable at the start of the game.

Every article I run across is riddled with errors. Maybe get someone who is good with english to come and tidy them up, I'd volunteer if I was better with grammar. I'm just a good speller.
I loved 1 and 2, but stopped playing through the series midway through 3 because of things already mentioned.
I'm pretty sure I recognize the main enemy, even behind his mask but if someone could confirm that be cool.
I remember while playing it thinking how f'ing cool it'd be if it were Teddy instead of who I speculate. Think about it, he's been alive for hundreds of years weilding a ruin, he'd have all sorts of reasons to go crazy.

Minor correction: Pesmerga's character profile is titled "Yuber." Just one block under the actual Yuber. ...Well, one of them is wrong, in any event.
