It is.
I first heard about this from Sega-16's "Lost in the Arcades: Data East" piece, and was delighted to find that it's just as brilliant of a game as it looks like it would be. I totally dig the Smash T.V. homages, too.

I don't know. I always felt like I didn't have as much control as I wanted over this game. I guess I was spoiled by Smash TV and Shock Troopers...
It's definitely not bad, but I think I was expecting more from it when I played it.

I've played it a couple months ago and I share Kitsune's opinions...while the premise is great I wish you could strafe.Still,it's fairly fun to play once in a while.

You can't really compare it to Smash T.V., as it's not the same genre. However, I'd say it's way better than Total Carnage.

Ghox for arcades is another pinball/arcanoid/shooter whatever amalgam, it's nice.

Hmm... it's been years now. I could have sworn there was some pinball elements in it.

"Its unusual gimmick does enough to let it standard apart, while it's got a pacing that keeps it fun the entire way through."
The word 'standard' should instead be 'stand' as in stand apart.
