DOA 3 has that in Christie's ending, too. You think they play these things for more than like 5 minutes?

Now that would be fun, putting the most disturbing imagery you can come up with in the ending of your all ages title. One has to wonder who would get into more trouble after some shocked mom called Fox Nes, the publisher or the organization who gave the game its rating.

Pegi always Rate Violence Higher than the BBFC as well. BBFC rated Mass Effect a 12 though its Pegi rating is 18+. Though if all a game is Skimpy Outfits Pegi will rate it 12+ not a M like America. I feel kinda sad for Parents who Belive in Pegi Ratings for thier kids just because Pegi seem to rate somthing at random. It makes sense with Rumble Roses, but not with the first Onechanbaras, since they're quite gory. They did rate the 360 and Wii Onechanbaras 18+, though.

Is it really Streets of Rage 2? Following your link I only see some small pic seemingly accidentally bearing the words SoR 2, which might have just been some graphics designer intern, whereas the rest of the page mentions the game as Bare Knuckle 2. Edit: There's a screenshot showing the title screen to bear the name SoR 2. So seemingly MS themselves aren't exactly sure what to call it. Why did they mix it up that badly? I can confirm that it's called Streets of Rage 2 on XBLA. I've been playing it for the past few days, working on the Achievements. Kind of pissed that they never released SoR3 separately. Or the Shining Forces, or the rest of the Phantasy Star games.

I had no idea there was a Streets of Rage comic out there, somewhere. And now, I really, really wish I didn't know that at all. That is some of the worst comics art I've ever seen. It's like a really chunky imitation of Dave Gibbons' finely-drawn style. I kind of admire the courage necessary to put out something that shitty. Lord knows I'd never be able to do that. In a perverse way, this kind of made my day. XD

Thanks for the revamp! I'm partial to Streets of Rage 3 because a friend and I spent so much time going through every inch of the levels in hopes of finding more secrets. The story itself didn't make much sense, but the different endings, unlocked characters, and "expanded" moveset from the 6-button pad made it feel like there was something new to discover every time... Minor corrections: The Syndicate is lead by Mr. X, a powerful crime lord although it's missing some of the awesome ridiculousness the city's mayor personally going out to piledrive crime. (" like the city's mayor"?) While all the characters share these same moves, it helps some badly needed variety to the moves list ("helps add some"?) Some levels also have the occasional pit you can toss your foes into, or end up falling into yourself, if you're not careful. And of course, ( Additional Screenshots text missing from SOR1 entry) This time, however, is that they're joined by Max Thunder, Axel's pro wrestler friend, Bags of money kind of make sense, sure, but then you notice that one of them haves a pile of gold bars inside. Aside from this infuriating design decision, the rest of the ideas both version s offer still work fairly well. Especially since you're on a fairly time limit, and when it expires, poison gas will slowly start to kill you and the chief. ("fairly short"? "fairly limited"?) The exact reason for this reason isn't known for sure, While there are a plenty of cutscenes, This time around, all the hidden characters have full movesets, with the artists supplying new sprites for when they didn't exist for all the moves. The Sonic comics brought out by Fleeyway were probably There's a bit of interesting history for comic geeks, however, two of the four stories printed were written by Mark Miller, (" as two of"? Or a colon after "however"?) So loose that the first issue with Axel getting beaten up by a bunch of crooked cops in an alley and hospitalized. ("first issue starts"? "first issue begins"?)

Hey, it’s me, bithin’ about Japanese again!
Anyway, about Bare Knuckle II: The subtitle ”死闘への鎮魂歌” is given as ”Shitō he no Chinkonka”, but the (barely visible in the cover) furigana for 鎮魂歌 give it the jukujikun reading ”レクイエム”, that is, Requiem. Moreover, contemporary Hepburn romanisation renders へ as ”e” when it is used as a grammatical particle reflecting its actual pronounciation.
So, a better transcription would be ”Shitō e no Requiem”.

Great interview. Surprised at how technical the conversation got too.

It's probably worth noting Axel and Blaze participate in Archie's Sega-Capcom "Worlds Unite" crossover.
As do many IPs HG101 covers...

Ooooh, I didn't know about that. Do you happen to have scans of the pages in question, or know what issue they're in?

My mistake, they weren't in the crossover (i could've sworn there was gag about Sticks the Badger eating an apple out of the garbage). Mea culpa. Since I've gone and went off topic anways, here's the full list for reference for other articles: Sega; - Sonic the Hedgehog
- Sonic Boom

^Skies of Arcadia and Okami as well.
Great interview, delving into the hardware advantages/disadvantages of the consoles, and I certainly can't complain about learning more about Streets of Rage 2.

Great interview. Streets Of Rage online also has a pretty detailed Making Of SOR2 online now.
Also, I'd like to take this chance to say that the intro of SOR1 is probably the greatest of its genre. The music, the skyline, the pathos laden script... it's perfect.
