So I got to play G Darius only recently, and HOLY DAMN WHY I HADN'T PLAYED THIS GAME BEFORE? Not only the game is awesome, its soundtrack is the kind of trippy, experimental eletronica I just adore! Certainly better than Darius Gaiden's. B.T. DUTCH (Tripod Sardine and Queen Fossil's theme) in particular is crazy good, and extremely tense for a second boss:

Magical Tetris Challenge is WEIRD. It's a Mickey Mouse game, and yet it has the least Disney-ish music I've ever heard. Which is actually a good thing, in my book.
Most of the stage music is kind of funky with a hint of electronic, but the final boss is where it gets really trippy. They decided to put in an almost-sort-of creepy (but catchy) jungle song for Pete's Theme.
Keep in mind that this is supposed to be a Tetris game. With Mickey Mouse. Y'know, for kids. Cool, but still baffling.

I absoluetly hated the game but alot of its music has stuck with me for awhile. While most of its tracks are more typical of a fantasy RPG you've got this crazy butt rock that plays during boss fights. Tottally caught me off guard when I first heard it, this one in particular I thought belonged in the fight between X and Zero in MMX5 more than anything. Maybe this is a common thing in jrps and such but its the first time I ran into it.
Regardless, I think it sounds pretty cool.

Theme for a fight that you lose even if you win.

Not the kind of song I'd associate with a racing game, but this is legitimately an awesome track.

Normally I associate the Joker with music that's more whimsical and circus-y, but SICK HARDCORE TECHNO BEATS aren't bad either.

Lethal Enforcers (Arcade) I remember this so fondly (as I owned the game in my childhood) so I'll see you that and raise you some Briganty!

It may not be one of the best tunes but I love it. It's also practically obligatory considering the thread title.

Man just went through this whole thread and there are a bunch of great tunes I've not heard before. Here are some more fun ones I like. The Elminite Down intro is a bout as kickass as Genesis can get
I'm also really fond of the Burunyanman soundtrack. Really really enthusiastic ost
The Super Shop theme is my favorite bit of music in Clash at Demonhead. So addictive.
This may have been one of the videos that had a broken link but with all the Tim Follin love I'm surprised I didn't see this.
I could go on posting about game music forever. I adore the stuff and I'm always ecstatic when I find tracks I like.

I really love Final Fantasy IX you guys. It's one of those games that for me never loses its appeal. Any time I think about it or play it it produces intense childlike joy. I feel very intensely about it in general. The world design, the characters, the plot. I also have a thing for PS1 era pre-rendered backgrounds of which FFIX is a prime example. The soundtrack is no small part of why I love it. It's truly a fantastic soundtrack that fits the game perfectly.

I'm also quite fond of the Kirby 64 OST. It may be one of my favorite N64 soundtracks. Talk about feel good music. I mean you can always count on Kirby for some good tunes.

I'm a big fan of Yasunori Shiono's music (although he never made much compared to many other composers). He returned as a composer back in 2014, but he hasn't done much aside from a couple of visual novels (neither of which I could find music for).
Anyway! Here's a couple of his tracks that I like.
(No idea where this one is from actuall, other than being from a Wolf Team game, so I'd like to know if anyone recognises it!)
From Chaos Seed, which had its SNES version fan translated last year.

It could be Arcus 2. That was a Wolfteam game he composed for with two other composers.
