Slowly working my way towards the Mr. Perfect trophy in Mega Man 10. I'm playing on Easy with Protoman which really helps, but this is still trying my patience. I've managed to make it through all the robot masters and Wily Stage 1 without taking any damage so far (thankfully you can save between Wily levels on Easy). I only recently got this game and, while I'm having fun with it, it feels uninspired. The level design doesn't feel thought out or clever as it does in the NES Mega Man games, and the music is very by the book. It's a shame, really, as I enjoy Sheep Man, Blade Man, and Strike Man's designs.

Finally defeated all of the Dark Aeons, Nemesis and Penance in FFX HD. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel for this game.

Taking an extended break from Mega Man 10 and playing Monster Tale for the DS. I'm not too far in, but I'm really enjoying it.

Lufia: The Legend Returns. Couple of hours in, reached the second continent. I'm surprised how much I like the party of this game, they are all pretty fun and play off each other rather well. Sadly, playing the thing is pretty boring. As usual with randomly generated dungeons, the layouts just blend together, and there's not even any good loot to be found - besides Ancient Texts, which are only featured on the first couple floors anyways, everything else so far has been the same on each floor of each dungeon. With them now being 10+ floors, that's just boring as hell to crawl through. It's really a shame, since it's a pretty cool game otherwise.

Started up Golden Sun a little while ago, as something to play on the bus and on my lunch break at work.
Just got past the first fight with Saturos.

Garou. Trying to beat it with one credit. Get to Kain and beat him too.
This game is truly amazing. I wish the online was good (playin it on 360). Now that I'm getting more into it, I feel if online was good, I may grow to like it as much as 3rd Strike. I'll have to look into playin it online through other means (emulator with online).
Also, I'll probably pick up a shmup. After accidentally erasing my Demon's Souls save, don't feel like playin a long game. Quick arcade games ftw!

Actually still working on FFXIV. I've never put this much focus in a game ever. Not in one shot like this. But I want to get to the endgame stuff. I'm actually looking forward to it. I know it's weird to be excited about grinding, but here we are.

MSG Ground Zeroes(got a decent tax return so paying $30 for this didn't bother me). Its a really fun game and the new gameplay mechanics are great. A vast and much needed improvement for the series. They did some cool things with this and it makes me really excited for the Phantom Pain. The new alert system is pretty awesome, as it gives you a chance to take out whoever sees you before they attack or alert everyone else. It really plays like an action movie at times. One of the really good changes is that all codec conversations happen in real time, in game. So as you're sneaking or fighting, anything Miller needs to tell you is happening at the same time instead of loading to a codec screen in the middle of things. The only complaint is the length of the main mission, but it isn't that bad considering the replayability of the game. And also since the story unfolds mostly in real time and most MGS games can can be finished in 3-5 depending on how you play, its not a major complaint in my eyes. Overall the game is very much worth playing and really breaths new life into the series. You will have to get used to Keifer Sutherland though. Many times I heard a voice talking and didn't realize it was Snake.

Finished Lufia 3. Ended up liking it, but the boring ass dungeons are still a real shame.
Started River King: Kite's Adventure up. I was never the biggest fan of the River King games. I'm kinda too impatient to wait till one of those fuckers finally decides to bite, while reeling them in is super braindead - and the RPG-mechanics always felt tacked on and in the way. Now this one tries to be a bit more heavy on the story/RPG front, so I was intrigued. Welp, so far the fishing is the same, but there are actual short dungeons and more constant fighting to be done. Too bad you also have to sail manually from island to island. I swear to god, there must be some law that sailing in JRPGs just has to suck or they rewoke your Japanese citizenship. It is needlessly clunky, you have to navigate by wind/current, pirates attack all the time, and you have to catch your own rations.

Dark Souls PS3
Continuing my replay of the series after finishing Dark Souls II and Demon's Souls...
This time around I am playing as a Cleric... though (as with Demon's Souls) I am barely using miracles at all and might as well have chosen a pure melee character.
I am enjoying my second playthrough of this game more than I did the first, but this is still probably my least favorite in the series. I respect the hell out of how the story is told and how imaginative and interconnected the world is... but it is just a pain in the ass to get around anywhere. This time I chose the key as my starting gift and that helps a lot in giving you other places to explore when you hit a wall, but having to trek all over the world to get to the blacksmith or unlock some door back where I started is really pretty annoying. I don't see why they couldn't have given you access to the lord vessel earlier on, so you could at least transport backwards when you need to. At least this time I won't have to trek all over blighttown to upgrade my pyromancy for much of the game...
I believe the gargoyle fight in DaS II prepared me well, because I was able to solo the gargoyles this time on my first try without even using that gold pine resin stuff. I was feeling pretty good about myself til I got to that damned Capra fight which gave me trouble (took 3-4 tries to get it down). I know people have said it's possible to beat Capra on your first try, but I dunno... seems like sometimes the dogs get in your way and you are unable to roll away from Capra's first strike (which can kill lower level characters in a single hit), while other times they seem confused and you are free to dodge around and make it up the stairs with no problem. Never mind the fact that the narrow stairs make it impossible to strike the dogs unless you switch to two-hand stance (swords) or have a spear equipped ahead of time.
I had forgotten how much better this looks than the DeS. Outside of Firelink, the textures and lighting are really exceptional, maybe even better looking that DaS II in most cases.

I started EcoQuest I: The Search for Cetus. The 90’s environmentalist style is pretty cute, and kinda makes me sentimental about how kid’s stuff used to have deeper meaning. Not that I’m that exposed nowadays, but it seems that the message nowadays doesn’t go much beyond the usual social value (be nice to people, don’t give up in face of trouble etc.), so it kinda made me feel we could actually use something like that nowadays, although maybe with not as heavy-handed ”humans are evil” approach. Gee, I’m starting to sound like an old man!

I've been playing several games but now it begins: I will install and play S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Seriously. The movie and book are so good.

Yeah, this coming Thursday I believe. I've been collecting the XOF patches the last few days to get the Raiden one.

I started a new game in Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor (DS verion, not the fancy 3DS one). I got this game back when it came out, but couldn't get into it and ended up shelving it. I wasn't very experienced with SMT games in general back then, so I've decided to start fresh and see if it clicks this time. Hopefully I'll get into a nice groove with it and see it through.
I also started a new character in Demon's Souls with the intent of going pure magic since my first character was a melee build. I'm only going to be playing this here and there, however, as Devil Survivor is my main focus.
