Seriously It's needed. Tetris is like the grandfather of puzzle games. Almost everyone has played tetris but theres so much backstory behind this!

The story of Tetris and those sneaky communists have been told elsewhere, and told better than I could ever do.
A Tetris article would be cool just to compare the dozens of different versions.
Anyway, Phoenix Wright was more about covering the import games in hope to gauge up fan support and eventually convince Capcom to translate the others. They're kinda sorta doing that now (albeit on mobile phones only for the moment) so mission half accomplished!

Gives me a cool a idea for some articles though. Gamers in their teens (and even many in their early twenties) won't remember, but there was a time when "puzzle game" didn't mean "line up things that scroll constantly." It would be cool to do an article on Arabian, Chaos, Sokuban, Don't Pull, etc. the only real modern game of this type is the excellent Mario vs. Donkey Kong.

Hehe. If Kurt is immortal--and I have reason to believe he is--the Tetris article will arrive sometime in 3060, right after the article on Donkey Kong.

I would rather see an article on Tetris Attack, Wetrix or any of the other fun games based on Tetris.

I second Wetrix, less well know and more interesting (article wise).

Tetris Attack is the best puzzle game ever made, seriously. And the music is awesome too

Sorry to go off-topic, but I've been compiling an informal survey for a while. It's about video game taste, and you just brought up one of the flag titles.
For those of you who consider Tetris Attack the best puzzle game ever made, please entertain me with answers for the following: your favorite Zelda; your opinion on Rare; your favorite genre. Thank you for your time.

I bought Tetris Attack three months ago and didn't play it until last night. It was pretty good!
I am not remotely qualified for the survey, but: Zelda 2, Rare are overrated hacks although they make good on the graphics and music front, and either action-RPG or strategy-RPGs.

you should see hardcore Tetris Attack fans play. It's insane, and part of the reason I don't plan to get my own copy.

I actually had a version of it for the TI-83+ and I thought I was pretty good with it. Then I went to a convention where they had a copy of the Japanese Puzzle Pack and I decided to give it a whirl there. I got completely owned.
On the bright side, I did manage to hold my own in normal Tetris. Though the version I played had to be the most unlikely merging of lisences I had ever seen: Tetris and Cardcaptor Sakura.
