I've said this before, and I'll say it again: A game about The Flintstones doesn't DESERVE to get music this good. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you mean a game based on the Flintstones MOVIE doesn't deserve to get music this good. Otherwise, as a Hoyt Curtin fan I am required to take offense.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but T&C Surf Design has one level theme for the entire game and the rest is small jingles, but that theme...
There's barely any content to this game and the controls on the surfing are awful

I don't know if it has been already mentioned at this thread but here is another average game for Gameboy with awesome soundtrack. The only videos I have seen about this game on YouTube are these ones with the soundtrack. Maybe I'll check out this game at my Gameboy emulator on my DS for its soundtrack and only. www.gamefaqs.com/gbc/580475-puzzledAnd even thought it's not a bad game, The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road from the creators of Wild Arms for DS is a very disappointing jrpg which had great potentials to be a masterpiece since the concept was interesting, it has some cool gameplay ideas, the graphics are from the most beautiful I've ever seen in DS, the illustration style is also beautiful (too bad it's wasted on generic enemies design) and the soundtrack is one of the most memorable ones I've ever heard in a jrpg. And God, I love its opening. One of my favourite videogames opening. Volley Fire - Gameboy a pretty avarage game but I always liked the background music of the first stage Oh no you didn't. People hate every game I like ;.; I don't know about other people but personally I love Volley Fire because it's simple yet addictive. You don't find good competitive shooters very often and that was years before Twinkle Star Sprites. And yeah, its soundtrack kick ass, another reason I love this game.

And it's odd, because the GB also had Final Reverse, so Volleyfire wasn't alone on that front.

That's because Ocean did some pretty kickass tunes on the SNES. Check the soundtrack of all 3 of the Adams Family games for the SNES , the second one specially has great tracks. With surround sound (not heard in the YT videos). Most people weren't too keen on Outlaws when it first came out but I enjoyed it, probably thanks to a great Ennio Morricone inspired score; That was incredibly amazing!!!

While the game itself was a complete piece of crap, Wild Woody's soundtrack is quite good, even though some tracks sound like a mess.
This one in particular is my favorite.

I know it has its fans, but I find Eternal Champions to be an awkward, unplayable mess.
But that theme song. Sounds like it escaped from a glorious DOS game circa 1994.

The GBA version of Bionicle: The Game (not to be confused with LEGO Bionicle, which is also pretty bad) is a complete screwy mess. All of the characters are exactly the same except for their color (Gali, the female Toa, has the same masculine grunt as the others!), and their shots take a million hits to kill any enemy (all of which can kill YOU in about 3). That's not even taking into account the ill-conceived isometric camera, which makes the game's jumping puzzles (which amount to about 90% of the game) nearly impossible. And even if the puzzles WERE possible and the enemies WERE killable, it would still be incredibly boring, on account of its piss-poor level design.
BUT WITH ALL OF THAT SAID... but with all of that said... the music is really freaking rad.
I don't know the name of the composer (sold my copy long ago, don't have a ROM, and there's not much info to be found online), but they did a really great job. I love the fusion of traditional tribal-esque sounds with electronic music, which fits in perfectly with the Bionicle world's nature-meets-technology theme.

If I remember correctly, the main riff of E1M1 was based on an existing metal song (I think it was by Slayer?). Perhaps T&C's theme was based on the same source.

Heavy Metal Thunder is probably the number one example of a terrible game with an incredible OST. Several well-known Japanese rock/metal/punk bands contributed original tracks, and former Scorpions member Michael Schenker had a hand in it. But dear lord, the game is complete shit. It's pretty much an incredibly padded out session of Rock Paper Scissors.

Never did play Super Putty, but all the videos I've seen of it point to it being mediocre.

For a modern example, I would mention Kantai Collection, also known as KanColle (艦これ). The soundtrack consists of an energetic mix of orchestra and rock, accompanying either a piano or a Japanese instrument that leads with nipponese melodies. If the tracks were longer I believe they would go very well with a strategy or tactics game. Please note that the songs are extended.
What's KanColle, you ask? A "click-and-watch" browser game with only a bit of strategy and a combat system heavily dependent on luck. Imagine the fun. Its characters are female anthropomorphizations of naval warships and submarines. Go online to find out more about it.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: A game about The Flintstones doesn't DESERVE to get music this good. Seriously, it sounds like something you'd hear in Unreal Tournament. Sounds a lot like Epic Megagame's MOD stuff - Jazz Jackrabbit 1 & 2, for example. But then again, Epic also made UT... And you're right, that is one awesome track. Zool 2 WAY too hard and uncontrollable for its own goo. Technically fine, but could have used a ton of play-testing. Sonic '06 You know the game, you know the music. Utopia Not exactly bad, but given the genre and its age, I doubt I'd ever want to play it again today. Police Quest 3 Both buggy and extremely picky about certain details (a horrible combination!), drawn out endgame, annoying driving sections - not exactly the best part of the series. But the music was done by Jan Hammer of Miami Vice fame! (My fav. track starts at 1:12) Battle Arena Toshinden 2 The Toshinden series has aged awfully, but the music is still awesome.
