Cool, that were the two games the most dubious about their origin. Thanks.

Was also interested in your piece on OLION and its Korean credits. For comparison, here are the full credits for the original PC6001 version: Based upon the idea by: Larry Miller Programmed for PC6001 by: Akira Takeuchi Music arranged by: Hiromi Ohba Character Design: L.Miller & A.Takeuchi Additional Character Design by: Akan Bee C.D.C Sound Advisor: Junpei Ryotsu System Analyzer: Ken Fujisawa Directed by: Mitsuhiro Mitsuda I can only assume 'Tarry Miller' was a typo on the Korean version. Although I still don't know who Larry Miller, but like you say he may have been some sci-fi writer. The PC6001 version also had the Star Trek and Indiana Jones theme music on the title screen And to answer an earlier question in thread: Yes, Armored Vehicle was also a PC6001 game (PiO, 86/2) www.pc-6001.net/p6/zassi/pio/1986.html

Only just got around to seeing those updates - man, I love how the Korean section is growing. I get a fuzzy feeling every time I browse through it.
Legend of the Sword looks incredible, as does Box Ranger. Pity that wasn't released.
Actually, so does Protocross and Astrocounter! There's also something new to discover when browsing. ;D

Larry Miller did Epoch and Hadron on the Apple II for Sirius Software. I guess Olion was inspired by those? (Miller also put together the 2600 group at Sirius and wrote Activision's Spider Fighter and Enduro.)

Yeah, Epoch looks a lot like Olion. What an amazing history there is behind this title! I'll write that down in detail for the next bigger update.

I think need to rewrite at 'Suna' topics. They changed company name in 1998, to "We company". according to their hompage history, they established to "Suna elctronic" in 1985. now, They don't product video game. for instand, they product ICT. www.wecorp.co.kr/company02.html (notice this)

Cool, now I can fill in the founding date for the company.
Suna didn't turn into We Company, though. After all, they continued making arcade machines until 2005, and an older version of the We homepage (web.archive.org/web/19991111153112/http://www.wecorp.co.kr/cgit/MyHistory.html) reveals that it's one of their divisions that spun off and established itself as a new company.

Hi all, I've been reading the 'History of Korean Gaming' series and there are many interesting beta/lost games.
In particular, Does anyone know more about the development of the Fox Ranger series or it's different versions? Are any known to exist?
I have acquired a version of Fox Ranger 3 which has the majority of it's files dated to mid 1996 but the main NF43.BAT file is dated 1997. I haven't been able to get it running because it keeps asking for a CD so I can't test it right now.
Here are the contents of an NFO file that came with the game, not exactly sure what it's trying to say. This could be one of those pre-retail pirate releases.
FOX RANGER - LAST REVELATION (c) DIGITAL WAVE [XX/49] PLATFORM ACTION GAME by IND Unzip and Unrar them to any drive then run install.exe and run SATM\FR\nf43.bat this game suppose to release by big game group but due to the lame demo of this company said 1996 this game is not dupe.. and never release just like Garfeild in the TV land.. the demo screen also said "sega 1996" enjoy it ...
If it's allowed, I'll put up a link to the game. Also if there are any demos, shareware or other preview type things for these games, please let me know!

This is... interesting, as of course Fox Ranger 3 has been released... but maybe the people who leaked it thought the game wouldn't make it, after all, it had been announced since 1994.
Unfortunately, I've never seen that demo the text speaks of. There are demos for many Mirinae games (in fact, some I only know because of the demo) and some lesser known titles like Tonko (Twim).

This is how the Install Program screen looks like, but it's pretty broken as all the options are invisible when it's run. I do have a rather unstable rolling demo of the game from 1994, It freezes if any buttons are pressed. Nothing playable and it doesn't show much apart from a cut-scene. Link: www.mediafire.com/?i60akq9hxlwi7xrIf a playable demo exists, it might be on some shareware CD or compilation.

Please don't make new threads for every little thing. This subforum is supposed to have one thread for each article.
There are several pages not on the TOC because they're technically WIP and have only been posted on the forums.
