A profile and interview with the man behind Kagirinaki Tatakai and Brain Breaker. It doesn't follow the norm for HG101 articles, but it's unusual enough that I feel it would appeal to our readership. I'm still trying to source a cover for Brain Breaker, and tidy up the design slightly, but I'll put it here for an early look in case I miss anything when tidying it. www.hardcoregaming101.net/ishikawa/ishikawa.htm

Great work on this and the Brain Breaker article. If you contact Prof. Ishikawa again, please tell him thank you very much from all of us.

I've just discovered, the HTML in this, and the SMBS article, and probably the new JPN PC article, doesn't work in IE, only Firefox. And Games of the World doesn't work in Opera. So this article is warped to hell and back in IE... Gah! What the heck is wrong with web browsers that they can't handle my spaghetti code?!

I'll take a look at it. They work fine in Chrome, though.

It looks like the width="95%" argument in the img tags makes Firefox autoscaling images, but Internet Explorer interprets it wrong. Dunno if there is a workaround, most articles on the site use just statically saved small images.

Well, I've manually resized them and removed the "width=" coding, so I'll re-upload the Ishikawa article when I get time. But man, I'm not looking forward to resizing every image in the Japanese computer feature. It's doubled in size to 4 pages, with probably 4 times as many images as previously, and they're all gonna need resizing...

Try batch conversion&rename in IrfanView, it has plenty of resizing options.

I have a program that can batch resize stuff too. But whenever I need to use tags I use absolute pixel values.

I've resized everything and double checked it in IE. I also have box art for Brain breaker, so this and the BB article are good to go.
I'm fairly sure we're now the only website on the internet to have box art for BB, direct from the designer himself.

Just smoe minor nitpicking, but from what I understand, the paragraph found on the Kagirinaki Tatakai box does not only translate to "Born in the 42nd year of the Showa Era (i.e. 1967). Lives in the Aichi prefecture. Is in the first year of [Japanese] high-school. Has owned a microcomputer for 2 years." but it also tells us that he's not only lived in the Aichi prefecture at the time but that he was also born there.

Hi people. Is the article on Hiroshi Ishikawa still available somewhere? When i try the links, i got some "404" stuff. This thread is old, but i did not know where else to ask about it.
[edit: nevermind. Ive found it, had to go into the old site]
