Are there any Chinese or Taiwanese survival horror or or horror tinged video games any of you have heard of?

Prince of Evil, which I've shown earlier is horror-themed. But no survival horror.

What about the Chinese developed port of Resident Evil 1 to the NES? It's sort of survival horror,

I'd honestly play that if there was some sort of translation guide and I knew it was actually beatable.

Devil Island for the Game Boy is about as horror-themed as Castlevania, considering it rips off most of that game's aesthetic (and applies it to a clone of Getsu Fuumaden). Still quite good though!

Oddly enough Art 9 Entertainment wasn't mentioned yet =\. It's a fine taiwanese developer of such good games as Heaven's Dawn & Live Or Dead.

I'm kind of wishing my wife actually kept in touch with her relatives in Taiwan (and bothered to learn to read), some of these games look fun.

if anyone's interested, I've uploaded a couple of early-2000s-ish Taiwanese PC games ripped from my own CDs, which I haven't been able to get running at all. I picked them up because of the companies behind them more than anything else - I'm personally more interested in console stuff, and they were all better known for their work in that area. Hopefully someone out there will have more luck with these things anyway. www.mediafire.com/?0j0s4j43vxyekthe games in there are Final Racing, a 3D racing game by Front Far East - who you may know from their copiers for various 8 and 16-bit systems - and X Battle Line, some kind of mech strategy game by Never Ending Soft Team (of Shui Hu Feng Yun Zhuan semi-fame) and published by Gamtec. Final Racing is the European release by Midas, X Battle Line is the original Taiwanese version.

Wow, I didn't know these games existed. It's amazing how deep into the world of video games Taiwan and South Korea got without our knowing. I think a lot of countries have a video game scene, it's just that the U.S., Japan, and (some of)Europe seem to be the most mainstream profitable areas of the world. Hell, thanks to Dynamic Designs, Dracula can now play Chrono Trigger: www.dynamic-designs.us/chrono.shtml

Sindbad in the Lost Land - ApexSoft (1996) A simple point&click adventure with a vaguely arabian nights setting. The controls kinda don't work too well, and I have a problem using items. I can't seem to get anywere in this game, but oddly it has a "level select" screen at the beginning, so I could at least get some screenshots. It also has a nice (though interlaced) animated intro, and whenever the hero dies there's this gruesome animation where his flesh melts from his bones. The oddest thing: The game is completely in English. My version also has Korean subtitles to chose, but the dub is in English, with some of the most bored performances I've ever heard. Gameplay seems to be a bit similar to Eternam. Could you upload this Chinese adventure somewhere?

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but there's also Object Software Limited whose games have all received an English translation (at least the single-player ones), like the hack and slash Prince of Qin (2002) and Seal of Evil (2004).

Gameplay seems to be a bit similar to Eternam. Could you upload this Chinese adventure somewhere? The game is about 500 MB zipped, which means I'll have to split it and then find the time to slowly upload the parts to rapidshare. So... sometime, maybe?
