Err, Sin & Punishment sequel, I assume?
Also, I had this in an update request topic, so I guess that can be closed or whatever.

Sweet, Amazon has it on sale. (Noticed by association.)
Glad to hear it's as good as it looks.

Glad to hear it's as good as it looks. You mean you never read the blog entry on S&P2 confirming its excellence in June? Anyway, great update. It's a mighty fine game worthy of a lot more attention. I will disagree with this though: More difficult than the first? The first had limited continues, and though you could earn more through high scoring, I got several Game Overs and had to restart from the beginning before I could complete it. S&P2 negates this by giving infinite continues. You can credit feed if you want, whereas you can't with the original.

Well, what I meant was the difficulty of the game itself was higher to compensate for the unlimited continues. There were a few bosses I died at at least a dozen times, whereas I never even remotely ran into those kind of issues with the first game.
I like it better the way S&P 2 does it, though. I don't mind retrying stuff several times as long as I get as many chances as it needs.

Ahh, righto. Makes sense now. Though I'd be inclined to reword. Original: To: I guess it depends what their starting point was. Did they decide to have infinite continues, and then proceeded to make it extra challenging because of this decision, or did they make it challenging and then to balance it allowed infinite continues? Or am I being too pedantic? The see-saw boss gave me the most trouble, until I worked out what needed to be done - definitely glad it had infinite continues for that.

It took me a try to figure out what was going on in the see-saw boss, but I was able to get it pretty quickly after that.
I think it was the fourth level boss - the one in the Japanese setting - that gave me the most trouble. I got stuck, didn't play for like two months, then came back and bit in like two attempts. Things work like that, I guess.
The sixth level bosses was a pain too, the one that went in a circle and there are dozens of robots and mechs and lasers while that one invincible-ish guy hovers in the center.

I think it was the fourth level boss - the one in the Japanese setting - that gave me the most trouble. Oh yeah, the one with the orbs which alter time? I think I managed it on my second go. There's some really awesome bosses in the game. I especially liked the beat-em-up boss, purely for how they decided to just go with something different.

Crap, I forgot to mention that boss. I'll add that in when I get the chance.

While it would involve a heck of a lot more work, boss profiles could be pretty cool, actually.

I tried to find some artwork for them, but the closest I could get was just the general "G5" picture on the official website.
I guess I could screencap some, but that would probably be for another time.

gamespress.com/Games Press has some massive, hi-res hand drawn artwork for... 6 bosses? Plus the 2 main characters. Plus a bunch of landscape shots which might have something you can crop out of them. They're watermarked, but it's in the corners most of the time. For some reason I can't actually download any at this particular moment, which is either because of server problems their end, or they've rescinded my access. Which they shouldn't have. It's totally worth signing up there. Freelance writers were most welcome last time I checked.

Nice article otherwise, but the characters do have some differences: Kachi has an auto-lockon that doesn't have a damage penalty like the manual variety does and her charge shot can lock on up to 8 targets, while Isa has a slightly higher fire rate and thus does more damage in the long run and his charge shot is easier to use overall.
Could've also mentioned the unlockables (tag mode, alternate firing modes/outfits, extended ending) and by far the most hilariously out of place boss fight in the game.

Thanks for the heads up! and by far the most hilariously out of place boss fight in the game. Which one is that? There are a couple of really goofy ones...
