4-Player WCW vs. nWo on the N64 sure was a blast, even if I couldn't care less about wrestling.

This is really great stuff. Bravo. I have to pick up the Virtual Pro Wrestling games someday. Actually, I should pick up any of these. I've only played the Smackdown 2 and like, but those were awesome as well.
I think the two ECW games would have also fit in the article. Both are Acclaim titles and I think they moved straight to ECW after losing the WWF license. I only tried Hardcore Revolution, but from what I remember, its bit similar to Acclaims WWF games. Quality wise, Im not sure, but I've seen at least one positive review for both.
Will there be more wrestling game articles?

I don't care about wrestling either but those N64 ones were extremely fun to play.

Personally, I think non-wrestling fans might even be able to get into the Fire Pro series, if they have the patience to learn the system. Oh, and dealing with the graphics being 2D post-4th generation. I was a wrestling fan, and I had to win matches by constantly jumping off the top rope and going for submissions at first, before I got the grappling system. Outside of that, there's just a lot that can be done with edit modes, and a lot of match styles, and whatnot.
I've tried a Def Jam game, I think the last one, where Henry Rollins teaches you to beat up rappers, and a Kinnikuman game. That's about my experience with these developers.

I'm quite surprised but this article seems to be making the rounds in places I never expected. Live Audio Wrestling discussed it on their worldwide radio show on Sirius. It can be heard here: lawradio.podbean.com/2010/12/14/review-a-raw-dec-14th-2010/They've also asked me to help them out on future video game segments. Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported on it in their newest update. It is one of the largest subscription based newsletters in the world. www.f4wonline.com/content/view/18683/105/Seems NeoGaf too made a discussion out of it along with plenty of wrestling based boards. Seeing I never really expect people to care for my writing due to English being my second language and all, it's very nice to see and get so many emails of praise. I hope it will bring in many people to keep checking HG101 since that's the main purpose.

That sure is a comprehensive article. Great work. Even though I pretty much hate show wrestling and anything associated with it, I still clung to the article to the very end (something not every article manages to do, like the Killer 7 one coming to mind, despite being one of my favorite games). Still I've got two minor complaints/requests: First, since you've already covered four games not made by Aki, it would be great to have some coverage on Def Jam Icon, just for sake of completion and second, in the Def Jam Fight for NY section it says not mentioning the PSP version at all. Seeing it having been released a few years after the home console versions and even having a new subtitle I'd like to hear something about the differences (if any).

Ah it totally passed me by that there was a PSP version of that game. Will pick up the game and fix.
Will make some more mention of Icon too.
Thank you so much for reading!

I took a lot of pleasure in those N64 games back during the late '90s, even though I, too, knew nothing about wrestling. Well, I knew a few things:
- I had heard the phrase "Can You Smell What the Rock is Cookin'?" many times. - I was aware that "Stone Cold" Steven Austin is wont to "open a can of whoop-ass."
That's it, though. That's what I went into these games with, and I enjoyed them a lot as very unusual 3D fighters.
