www.hardcoregaming101.net/metalwolf/metalwolfchaos.htmThis mecha-action game is pretty much the only JP-exclusive Xbox title worth playing. Too bad it's so expensive. You play as the President of the United States, who defends himself from a coup by the Vice President with a gigantic robot. The dialogue is all in (really bad) English, and it's a huge shame this never came out in the US. What is also hilarious is that the Google ads seem to be calling up gun rights banners. How much more Super American could you get?

The only game shy of Nine(Blech) I want an import-capable oXbox for.
Also, rumor has it that this was shopped around at US publishers for localization, and From were 'laughed out of the office'.

I keep hoping that microsoft will notice how much this goes for on the aftermarket and for some reason put it on xlba. I can dream right?

You can email Microsoft with links to the article. They might take notice. Translation would only require a few paragraphs of text for weapon descriptions and stat names - hell, even just the names would do. Heck, you can play even in Japanese with a bit of trial and error.

After having watched some footage, I have finally found a reason to get an XBox. Looks extremely fun and the quotes are hilarious! I'm just a bit unsure of whether the sole mission goal of eradicating all enemies doesn't get somewhat stale after a while.

It manages to keep things interesting thanks to diverse level themes. For example although the Beverly Hills mission is basically identical to the Chicago mission, in the former the targets explode if you get too close, and the latter there's a poison gas timer which goes down by destroying targets. There's also a couple where the targets are mobile bosses. For 10 hours until completion I was hooked. Can't say I wanted to replay levels in a higher difficulty though to unlock everything.

Now I'm completely sold...thanks for making me put yet another overly expensive game on my wishlist.

Well, at $10 an hour, you might want to consider just borrowing it off a friend.

I love everything about this. Almost makes me want an XBox but I'm sure I'd maim it horribly trying to region-mod it.

I have no clue where I heard the rumor at, but I BELIEVE it was Sega of America the rumor pertained to.

It's pretty easy, as long as you've the original printing of Splinter Cell and an Xbox Live Action Replay. (Which actually might be a problem, because the memory thing that comes with it is awfully flaky and tends to not work on certain computers. But if it does, it's extremely straightforward and hard to screw up.)

Coincidentally, after I saw this game's article on the front page yesterday, I found an article on Destructoid (Patriot Games: A 4th of July Spectacular) which featured Metal Wolf Chaos.
