I'd bought 1-6 a couple weeks ago, been meaning to try them (especially 4/5), haven't got around to them.
Hope I can deal with them.

Seems that the GOG discount was due to the imminent release of Might and Magic X, released three days ago! I knew of the announcement but I thought it would come later this year. Only things I know is that it's a downloadable title, it's developed in Unity (which sould be a stigma no more, since that engine is doing a good show, Wasteland 2 is made with it too), and aims to combine elements of the Xeen games with the later titles. Indeed, a quick peek at some gameplay videos shows that movement is old style, a grid with 90 degree turns. It's obviously a more niche title and an experiment on part of Ubisoft, since it's even Uplay-free and had been on Early Access since August, but if they managed to craft a good game from the old franchise, power to them.

In the section for the first game, there are two combat screenshots on the right side labeled with "Might & Magic Book One (PC Engine)" that look completely different from one another. I believe the second is probably supposed to be labeled as for the NES version, at least it looks NES-y. One of the two is clearly mislabeled, though.

Even the filename was wrong. Weird.

Just in, Humble Bundle has a weekly bundle with a lot of M&M titles, although it focuses a lot on the Heroes line, you can still get M&M 1-6 and Heroes 2 and 4 for just one dollar. The second tier has also the very first Heroes and may be worth a shot just for Dark Messiah (forgettable story, but really fun first person melee gameplay).

Looks like this is a repeat of an earlier bundle they did some months back; I love how they seemingly realize Heroes 3 is the best one and put it clear up in the $10 tier.

That's because it's the HD remake (is it still missing the expansions?) and thus technically one of the "new" titles.
