www.hardcoregaming101.net/esperdream/esperdream.htmMore Konami Famicom stuff, although neither of these left Japan. The first was an early-ish action-RPG with some good ideas but wasn't particularly refined. The sequel came out near the end of the system's life span, fixes pretty much everything that was wrong with the sequel, and is one of the few 8-bit RPGs I could wholeheartedly recommend to anyone, even those that don't normally care for their grindiness. It's on the easy side, compared to the brutalness of its predecessor, but it's fast, the action is fun, and it looks and sounds fantastic - it uses the same memory mapper as Akumajou Dracula, for all of the goodness that entails.

Played through ED2 last year and wasn't impresseda at all, but I guess no NES-RPG truly could.
I also guess that playing through the first game makes the second look good mostly in comparison ;D
